When it comes to shopping I’m usually pretty good at picking out gifts for loved ones, well, that is except for those who seem to have everything.

When I hear the word unique and it’s used to describe a product, I am instantly intrigued.
I’ve never been an ordinary girl nor have I ever went with the crowd. I’ve always had my own style in everything I do. I guess it’s because I get bored with simple, typical things.
If you saw me in a store you would probably be shocked to know that I love creating things. I love to build, I love art and I’m not afraid to get my hands dirty. Sure, I look girly, but my nails are not professionally manicured nor have they ever been. I guess that’s what attracted my hubby to me. He also loves to build and work with his hands and I guess you could say he’s really happy that I’m not a high maintenance girl.
Between the both of us, we’ve constructed a number of home projects that have come out quite well. We get a lot of compliments on our hard work, not that we’re looking for praise. It’s just something we like to do. I appreciate when people are creative and put their hearts into their work.

When I laid eyes on the Black Garden shoulder bag I knew I loved not only the style but the colors as well. I’ve never owned a soft, cloth hand bag but I knew this one was for me. I wasn’t exactly expecting the bag to be the size that it is but I was definitely pleased when I received it. It’s a bit larger and I’m happy. Very happy!
This bag is really cool, really unique and I love everything about it. The design works well with not only a dressy look but a more informal outfit like jeans and a nice shirt. Of course I’ve paired it with my dark jeggings, and high heeled ankle boots. It’s sleek and sexy yet very comfy to carry. I love how light it is. I’ve never owned a handbag that didn’t cause my arm, shoulder and back to ache… until now!
The ‘Black Garden’ bag is now my favorite. And I love the style so much that I’m thinking very seriously of purchasing one in a different color so I can trade off and on depending on my attire. The quality is way beyond what I expected for the price and did I mention the button? At first glance it just looks like a wooden button but if you look close enough, you’ll see that the coconut shell button is carved into the shape of an elephant. It’s very cute and really completes the chic, unique look of this bag.
THE PERFECT MATCH
After selecting the handbag I continued my search for another favorite item until I came across the ‘Earth Droplets’ jewelry set.
I was really drawn to the unique shape of the earrings and pendant as well as the beading and
asymmetrical design.
Something else I liked was the colors and the fact that these were also made of wood. Ahh, the perfect match up for the handbag!
Upon receiving my items for review I was thrilled beyond belief when I opened the creatively wrapped packages. They really do look as though they were made to go together. Wow, I did good! hehee.
The brown wood with the black and white on each of the items really looks great together.
I’m very pleased with each of these products. It’s quite obvious that the artisans put a lot of work into each piece — paying close attention to detail, even with the intricate embellishments. I’m also impressed with how well these gifts were wrapped for shipping. Everything was intact as it should have been. I couldn’t have asked for anything more.

Just a little while ago I received a package — delivered by UPS. A medium-sized, square, brown packing box filled with — well, I didn’t know at that point. Hubby was the one who brought it in.

This nifty bowl is designed to fit naturally inside of the palm of your hand and it definitely does. It’s shaped just right to cradle your hand — either hand — so no matter if you’re a “leftie” or a “rightie”, it doesn’t matter because this bowl was made for you!
You slip your thumb through the thumb hole and place your fingers just below the bowl and you’re ready to eat. These bowls feel like they were created just for me, and they give me the ability to keep a better grip on my bowl. I LOVE them!
I’ve used them for cereal, and ice cream and next will try them with my morning coffee and maybe even soup. Another idea is hot cocoa topped with lots of mini marshmallows. hehee!
My only regret with these is not getting more. Honestly, now I want to buy some of the other colors. I love the aubergine — it’s a really pretty burgundy color and I think it would look great in my kitchen with the ‘olive’ and ’butter’ buddha bowls as well.
The Buddha Bowls are handmade in the USA and Canada and are made of ceramic materials. They’re microwave and dishwasher safe although I plan to hand wash them and won’t be putting them in our microwave. I don’t want to risk damaging my new favorite bowls.

The Peanut Butter & Jelly Spreader is one item that will get a lot of use here in my home. It’s perfect for use when making peanut butter & jelly sandwiches as well as toast with butter and jelly or jam or whatever spreads you use.
The concept of this unique item is to prevent cross spreading two different condiments. My hubby has always disliked finding crumbs in the butter and my pet peeve has always been finding jelly in the peanut butter or peanut butter in the jam. Ok, the crumbs bother me too. hehee! I’m picky about my food and I’m sure I’m not alone here.

At this time of year our skies are pretty lacking when it comes to the sun. We get more cloudy, dreary days than anything which can sure be a downer for your mood. So when I was shopping the Novica website recently I was instantly drawn to the ‘Sumptuous Sun‘, created by talented artist Marco Polo Serrano from Mexico.
This iron sculpture includes a smiling ceramic face that grabs your attention and gives you a feeling of warmth, just like the real sun when it wraps you in it’s powerful rays.
I love the earthy colors that Marco chose for this piece. It works really well with my other decor!
The wall space that I chose for the ‘Sumptuous Sun‘ is along our staircase that overlooks our great room (living room). I can see it from many angles because our home has an open floor plan. So when I’m in my dining room or standing in our great room, I can look up and see the ‘sun’. I can’t help but smile when I see the ‘sun’ smiling back at me. hehee!
