Bea’s Gift Baskets ~ Large Snack Attack Basket {review} + Giveaway

Wow, I have two Mothers who will be celebrating their birthday’s in August — my own sweet Momma and my Mother-in-law. So how do I decide just what to get? I do have to admit that neither of them are easy to shop for. Sorry Mom, but you’re not! (I know she’s reading this, hahaa).

Every single time I ask my Mom what she wants or needs, the answer is always the same “Nothing!”. My Mom now states that because her life was spared from breast cancer, 2 years ago, that she is just happy with what she has and that she has her life. THAT is very unselfish. I respect her for that. But Mom, I still want to get you SOMETHING! So, what would you like?

How many of you are ever in that position? I know I am all the time. I have always been one who loves to prepare for holidays, birthdays, and other get togethers. And ever since I was a little girl, I’ve always loved giving my family and friends gifts, even handmade gifts. My Mom still has some of the little things I gave her while I was in school. I think that’s so sweet! I’ve been doing the same thing with my kids. It’s fun to look back at those gifts and remember those times.

For me, gift giving is a time to not only show others you love them but also to show them how much you care. That they were important enough and on your mind, and you show them how much they mean to you by giving them something that will make them smile. Something that will brighten their day, maybe even make them cry. Not that I try to make anyone cry, but my Mom does become sappy when I make her something. Is that a good cry or a bad cry, Mom? hehee. Did you really like it so much that it touched your heart or were you upset because you didn’t like it?

So, what do you do when you’ve exhausted all gift ideas? Do you turn to flowers? I know my sisters are bad about resorting to flowers and although I, myself, love flowers, getting them each and every time can become monotonous. I like surprises. How about a gift basket? Or hey, how about a gift basket AND flowers? That would be great, right?

The lovely Bea, from Bea’s Gift Baskets recently sent us the Large Snack Attack Basket to test. I mean taste. hahaa. Hmm, my family and food? Yea, we never complain. hehee. The basket arrived in a huge and hefty box. Very well packed. I had no idea that it was my basket until I opened it. I never thought it would be as big as it was. Wow!

What a list, huh? There was a ton of snacks in this basket. If you know someone who loves to snack, especially on pretzels, then this is the one for them. There’s pretzels in nearly every flavor available. hehee

So, what did I try first? The All Natural Dolcetto Wafer Rolls in Premium Vanilla (see image below). OMG those are good!!! I had never tried wafer roll cookies before but now I have to admit, I am hooked. hehee. They are thin, light and crispy pastries rolled and filled with a light and fluffy sweet cream. These did not last long at all. I let everyone here try one but I ate the rest. Each box comes with 12 wafer rolls. hehee. Go ahead, call me a pig. I don’t care. hahaa

Next on my list… my daughter, Gina, and I finished off the small bag of M&M Mini Cookies. That’s the first time I had eaten those too and they were good. If you like your cookies crisp instead of soft, you’ll love those! My other favorites in this basket were the Caramels, Famous Amos Cookies, hmm…. do you see a trend here? Cookies, and cookies, oh yea, cookies! hehee. Ok, I also liked the Chocolate Toffee Chews, Candy Mints and Butterscotch. Can’t go wrong with candy!

Two of the items in the basket, I believe had melted. The Buckleys Hand Crafted Toffee and the Petite de Fruits candies. They were quite sticky. The toffee was all clumped together in one corner of the package. Everything else was ok.

How Does It Measure Up?

The large Snack Attack gift basket measures 19″ W x 19″ H x 13″ deep. Yes, that is BIG!

I really liked the big maroon colored bow and vine that was added to dress up the basket. It was a nice touch. The large wicker basket is a great keepsake. I’m using it for storage.
