What’s that? Can you smell it? It’s wafting in the air outside your door. That mouth watering aroma that comes every Spring and Summer.
I don’t cook indoors during the heat of Summer, or at least not as often as I do throughout the rest of the year. We still, at times use our grill during the Fall but in the Spring and Summer, that baby is cooking up a storm. That’s probably why our neighbors dogs are barking nonstop when we’re out there— as if they’re saying “hey, I’m over here, can you toss me some?” hahaa!
With the warmer temperatures (for me) comes a craving for steaks, hamburgers, hot dogs, brats, grilled corn on the cob & other veggies, along with my grilled Pina Colada dessert. Yummo!
My mouth is watering just thinking about those. We also love slicing up grilled steaks for fajita’s or soft tacos. Lots of juicy meats and tasty flavors.
Of course something else that comes with warmer temperatures is more frequent cookouts, and picnics, not just for Memorial Day, Father’s Day, 4th of July and Labor Day but for those “just because” moments and don’t forget the family reunions. There’s lots of ways to celebrate in the Summer but each and every event is sure to include some barbequed food— and messy fingers. hehee!
What better way to compliment your grill and patio table then to serve meats, appetizers, side dishes— even desserts from The Tender Filet? We recently had the opportunity to try out one of their Grilling Favorites packages.
This value-packed box contains each of the following:
Because we’re a family of 4 adults (and Baby E) I opted to cook the beef tenderloins and teriyaki chickens for our first taste test. The tenderloins were fairly small and I knew our hungry guys would need a little more to fill their tummies.
With the tenderloins I served grilled bell peppers and onions, and for the teriyaki chicken I grilled some sliced pineapple with a little brown sugar. We also had baked potatoes as a side. Shall I say “Delizioso?”
My favorite was definitely the grilled teriyaki chicken breast. Oh my was it tasty and full of flavor. The grilled pineapple was a nice accompaniment and only enhanced the delicious flavors. The chicken itself was nice and tender and juicy. Perfecto!
On day two we cooked up the burgers and franks and served them with some cheesy steak fries. If you’re ever looking for juicy and oh so tasty burgers, look no further than The Tender Filet’s. Their 4 ounce 100% sirloin Burgers are sealed in packages of 2, which is great when you’re looking for a quick meal but don’t need to cook very many. They turn out nice and tender and very flavorful.
If you’re favorite grillers are hot dogs, the Angus beef franks are just the ticket. Each 3.2 ounce plump frank is made of slowly smoked angus beef and savory spices— tucked inside a thick casing. They come sealed in packs of 4, the perfect serving size (1 each) for a family of 4— or if you have a hungry crowd like I do, you can serve up as many as you need.
Oh, don’t worry about waste, these plump and juicy Franks taste great so there won’t be any left. If you’re a fan of the large frank brands, you’ve got to try these. They make those other brands look like puny cocktail weenies. haha!
Although I prefer the taste of grilled meats over others, these bad boys can be broiled, even pan fried. Of course the franks can also be boiled, and the chicken breasts can be baked— meaning a grill is not needed (if you don’t already own one).
