When hubby and I first saw the model of our home we were in love. The open floor plan with a first floor master bedroom and laundry room is exactly what we wanted— each room is quite spacious too. It even has an open loft that overlooks our great room (living room).
Another feature that we loved is that each bedroom has a walk-in closet. But, one thing we didn’t really pay attention to is the lack of storage everywhere else. It’s really lacking!
That’s why one of my New Years resolutions this year was to get better organized and get rid of things we no longer need. BUT, finding the time to go through everything has been rough… I’m slowly getting there.
Thanks to Brylane Home I was able to get a jump start on our half bath when they sent me their attractive Louvre Étagerè— an over the toilet storage cabinet that not only looks great but offers two full shelves of added space (inside), a top shelf and an outer shelf. A much needed improvement!
When taking the parts out of the box I was impressed with the beautiful espresso finish and the brushed nickle knobs. It was exactly what I was looking for to help dress up my rather boring bathroom.
Assembling the Étagerè was fairly simple and only required a screwdriver and the included Allen wrench. Gotta love that! I also love when the instructions include images— making the installation process go pretty smoothly. Within 20 minutes we were installing the cabinet in the bathroom.
Because the cabinet is top heavy it’s necessary to attach the top corners to your wall. Unfortunately the studs in the wall didn’t mesh up with the cabinet mending plates so we used the included drywall grommets. No biggie though!
This Étagerè really helps dress up the space. So much so that I rushed to give the entire bathroom a fresh coat of paint, and we bought some trim that I plan to paint black and frame around our mirror. I also bought a new and plush bath rug. hehee!
Now I’m looking for a few accessories to adorn the top of the cabinet. Another excuse for me to go shopping. haha!
How does it measure up?
The Louvre Étagerè measures 68.5″ H x 23.5″ W x 9″ D. From the floor to the first shelf it measures 33.5″.
So what is the Louvre Étagerè made of? It’s made up of low emission engineered wood (also known as MDF – Medium Density Fiberboard) and veneers that are produced using the strictest low emission standards.
To care for the cabinet, you can dust it using a soft, dry cloth. And for soiled areas, just simply wipe it down with a damp cloth and dry it immediately. Spills should be removed immediately as well using a soft, dry cloth. Never use harsh chemicals or abrasives that will scratch the finish!
Overall I am quite impressed with my new Étagerè and am thrilled that I have more room in my vanity cabinet for things such as toilet paper, tissues and cleaning supplies that I tend to buy in bulk.
Now to get busy with the rest of the house. Phew, just thinking about that makes me dizzy! haha.
You can purchase the Louvre Étagerè directly at www.brylanehome.com. It currently retails for $99.99 and is available in white or espresso.
