I really don’t want to sound like a “Debbie Downer” but allergies suck… and so do cold, frigid temperatures!
When I was young I loved being outdoors. I was quite the “tomboy” playing in mud, catching bugs, and jumping in water puddles. It was exciting. I absolutely loved nature all year long!
But then I had kids and during my pregnancy with my son Derek I developed allergies to many things including dust and dirt (and sadly I think I’m allergic to my 3 pets but shh… I don’t want to lose them!) Strangely Derek developed the same allergies so we suffer together.
Wintertime is horrible for the both of us because not only are we indoors breathing in the warm, dry air but we’re surrounded by more dust. Our home backs up to a very busy road so our home gets rather dusty (even shortly after I’ve dusted). It’s aggravating to say the least. As you can imagine, Derek and I experience stuffy noses all year long. Boo! Who wants to feel sick all year thanks to allergies? Not me!
Lucky for us, Luma Comfort recently offered to send us one of their humidifiers to help make things more tolerable and I opted for the HC12W Ultrasonic Cool Mist Humidifier. Why cool mist instead of hot since it’s cold outside? Well, I knew the cool mist would be safer around Baby E and this humidifier looks cool in appearance as well!
See, as you already know, I love unique things so when I laid eyes on the Ultrasonic Cool Mist humidifier, I just had to have it. At first glance it looks like a sleek, modern, long necked vase but this baby does more than just look pretty, it puts moisture back into the air that we’re losing due to the furnace AND it helps cut down on dust. Woohoo!!!
HC12W Ultrasonic Cool Mist Humidifier with different attachments
I especially love that I can customize the height of the Luma Comfort humidifier so that it fits perfectly with the location that I chose. The HC12W can be placed directly on your floor or on a tabletop (as long as they’re level and stable) and depending on your taste, it can be as short or as tall as you wish.
The Luma Comfort comes with 4 separate pieces to create the neck— I selected the medium size since it’s currently above floor level. I thought the large attachment made it a bit too tall although it would be awesome for the floor position. It does look great though and blends in beautifully with our decor!
1.) Luma Comfort humidifier 2.) Remote Control
3.) Cool mist
Something you’ll love about the HC12W Ultrasonic Cool Mist humidifier is that not only can you operate it using the watermark button located on the front of the unit, but it also comes with a handy dandy remote control. You can literally operate it without even getting out of your seat.
When you turn this baby on it makes a chiming noise to let you know it’s on. You can control the mist settings (8 total) by hitting the plus or minus button on the remote or by holding the watermark button on the unit itself. Each time you hit the button it chimes and the higher it goes it sounds as though it’s singing do-re-mi-fa-so-la-ti-do. So cute!
1.) Place water here! 2.) Filling with water
3.) Replace cover 4.) Top cover
Before operating the Luma Comfort humidifier you need to add water by filling the base. It holds a total of 9.5 pints of water and will run for up to 45 hours straight on a single fill (with 2.5 gallons of output). Isn’t that awesome? I love standing around the Luma Comfort when it first turns on because the air smells SO fresh and clean— it’s like after-the-rain air. After a short while the whole rooms smells like it. I love that!
I also love that the mist coming out of the humidifier is cool to the touch so no one will get scalded. That’s a huge plus! And, the whole unit is made of durable plastic so no worries about it falling over and shattering into a million pieces. It’s very sturdy!
Since using the Luma Comfort Ultrasonic Cool Mist Humidifier I have not had any issues with a stuffy, dry nose, or dry burning eyes. That’s a huge improvement! I honestly can’t say enough good things about this product. It puts out a nice amount of mist that can be adjusted to your liking, it has near-silent operation (only a slight hum), and it doesn’t contain any filters that need replacing— which saves you money.
Speaking of money, this bad boy’s ultrasonic technology ensures energy efficiency. It uses 110V-120V / 60 Hz / 35 W. Not much at all. Yet it’s powerful enough to feed 2.5 gallons of water into your home’s air, giving you clean, crisp, moist air to breathe each and every day.
I seriously don’t know how I managed without this humidifier. Well, honestly, I didn’t. I felt sick all the time— suffering from a dry, stuffy, clogged nose and sinuses. But no more. Not now that I have my Luma Comfort!
