On New Years Eve I’m pretty sure many of you made the commitment to lose weight or at least attempt to live a healthier lifestyle. That’s on the top of most people’s resolution list anyway. I know it is mine!

I think the hardest part in achieving what we set out to do early in the year is staying motivated. Not to mention finding the time to work out on a regular basis. When you already have an overloaded schedule it can be nearly impossible.

Well, that is unless you’re my 19 year old son Derek. He graduated high school last year and is now working a full-time job yet he’s continuing to keep his commitment of living a healthy, active lifestyle. He’s done so for the last 3 years. He eats a ton of protein, drinks nothing but milk and water, takes vitamin supplements and works out nearly every day. I’m very proud of his dedication and drive to be fit.

Boy how I wish I could keep up with him. When he’s in our home gym his energy is outstanding!

Over the last few years I’ve seen him transform into a very strong, handsome young man. Yes, I’m partial but he’s accomplished a lot in such a short amount of time all on his own (with a little help from dad) and he looks great! His dream of becoming a fitness trainer and helping others accomplish THEIR goals is getting closer every day. I believe he will continue to follow that dream and make it a reality, and I wish him all the success and more!

Because Derek is SO active in lifting weights, running and playing sports, riding dirt bikes and other activities he needs the proper “equipment” to achieve his own goals. So, being his dear mama I can’t just sit back and be an outsider. Oh no, I’m helping him out as much as I can, especially when it comes to finding quality active apparel. When I came across the MPG website last year I knew I didn’t need to look any further.

As you may remember, last winter Derek got the awesome opportunity to test an outfit from MPG and boy was he happy. Prior to that he had been wearing old baggy clothes that hid his physic underneath but because he’s worked so hard at achieving his muscular, more shapely body, he’s slowly coming out of his shell and showing it off a little bit. Just a little bit. He’s still a tad shy when it comes to his bod. I’m not exactly sure why because he looks great.

When it comes to after-workouts, Derek prefers to wear a cover up to keep the heat in so he’s still burning calories and that’s why he chose to review the Syndrome long sleeve pullover in black. It’s just the right thickness and comfortable enough to wear during a workout and after. One thing that drew him to it is the tapered fit, breathable fabric, and the sleek colors. He also loved the look and feel of the Achieve Jersey Warm Up Pants and decided to get another pair (in black this time). Both items look really great paired up.

Once again I am more than impressed with the overall look, feel and quality of MPG’s products— the fabrics and stitching are by far the best I’ve ever seen. They’re very well made and will definitely provide Derek many years of use (without shrinkage!)

So what did Derek think? Take a look…

It looks great on him, right? The dark color doesn’t really show off his physic here but it fits nicely. Sorry ladies, it was hard to get a great shot. I’m not a professional photographer by any means. hehee!

This top is made with 90% polyester,  and 10% spandex. Plus, it has double mesh pique trim fabric with 94% polyester & 6% spandex. You can’t tell in the photo but I really like how the side stitching draws your eyes down along the curves of the body, even on the back. Plus, it has a zippered pocket along one side so you can carry an ID card or other small item without losing it. That’s a huge plus for Derek since he has a tendency of misplacing things. haha!

The Syndrome comes in 3 attractive colors; Heather Charcoal, Black (the color Derek is wearing), and Twilight in sizes S, M, L, XL, and XXL. It retails for $60.00 but is currently on sale for just $36.00.

These warm up pants appear to be a bit long on Derek’s 6′ frame but he likes wearing his pants a little low on his waist. If he pulled them up where they’re made to sit, they would be perfect. They still look great and fit his frame very well, leaving plenty of room for his expanding thigh and calf muscles to grow.

They’re made of 88% polyester and 12% spandex performance jersey fabric, heavy melange jersey that’s made up of 48% nylon, 40% polyester, and 12% spandex. There’s an adjustable drawcord in the waistband so you can customize the fit to your own physic. Plus, 2 side hand warmer pockets.

The Achieve warm up pants come in Black and Heather Charcoal in sizes S, M, L, XL, and XXL. They retail for $76.00.

Both items are machine washable and hold up very well with each wash— keeping their “like new” appearance over and over again. I love that!

As you can see, each piece of athletic wear not only looks great but Derek loves the feel of each one on his skin. They’re super soft, breathable, and they stretch when he does so he doesn’t feel confined. This line of active apparel is definitely made to endure performance in any activity. And when you’re done, you can wear them outside the gym and still look great.

I’m warning you though, you just might hear a lot of whistles and get tons of compliments thrown your way. hehee!
