1386098330_hs_logo~ Thank you to Heat Storm for providing a sample at no charge. No monetary compensation was received or offered. My opinions are strictly my own! ~

Is Winter over yet? No?!— It hasn’t even begun and I’m freezing my patootie off. Our weather here has been extremely crazy to say the least. We were getting snow in October and that never happens. Or at least it didn’t until now. What happened to Fall?

I can’t help but think about Spring and my beautiful flower gardens but until then I’m doing all I can to stay warm. Jack Frost has been nipping at my nose, toes and everything in between when I’m out and about, and his chilly breath is wafting through my house. Brr… Can you tell I don’t like this weather? hahaa!

hs-1500-iloThanks to the generosity of Heat Storm, I’m better prepared this year— especially because of my new Logan Portable Infrared Quartz Heater. This puppy puts out 1,500 watts of infrared heat and covers up to 1,000 square feet. Wowza!

You can literally heat a whole (small) house or apartment with this bad boy in no time. That’s pretty awesome, right?

Now I don’t have to wait until March 19, 2014 (the start of Spring) to get warm!

Imagine the money you can save on your heating bills when you supplement your gas or electric heat with the Logan heater. It’s the perfect heat source for frequently used rooms such as bedrooms, dens, family rooms, or wherever you need extra heat.

  • Walnut fine furniture finish with castors
  • Built-in thermostat controls room temperature
  • Air purifying function through high efficiency lifetime filter
  • LED display
  • Remote control
  • Heat output: 5,200 BTU/h
  • Rated power: 1,500 Watts, 12.5 Amps/ 120 VAC
  • Measures 14.5″ W x 12.5″ D x 18″ H
  • 3 year warranty

As lightweight as this awesome heater is (at 29 pounds), you can easily maneuver it from room to room (if need be), especially since there are castors on bottom. Because it covers such a large area, that really shouldn’t be necessary although the option is there.

1.) Logan heater face w/ LCD display  2.) Removable filter
3.) Castor wheels for portability  4.) Attractive dark walnut finish

There are heaters and then there are amazing heaters and the Logan is one of them. This baby heats up a room like no other and it does it quicker than any we’ve ever owned. One feature I really love is the built-in blower— it pushes the heat out into the room so it’s not just lingering around or above the unit.

I’ll tell you, we’ve had ordinary space heaters where the heat just stayed in close proximity of the unit, keeping the rest of the room cold. What good is that? It’s a waste of money!

Something else that sets the Logan apart from other heaters is that its heat exchanger combines with the humidity in the room so you get a soft, moist, safe heat without reducing the oxygen or humidity levels.

Heat Storm goes one step further by enclosing their heating elements inside quartz tubes with ceramic ends which eliminates (dangerous) hot exposed wires. Those tubes are then enclosed inside a steel chamber and of course with the attractive wooden outer cabinet, you get a great decorative heater that not only keeps you warm but safe as well.

As if this heater couldn’t get any better, it also comes with a remote control. With the press of a button you can control the temperature of the room without even leaving your seat. Talk about convenient! The unit also has a large LCD display on the face which displays the ambient temperature so you can see it from across the room. The Logan heat settings control your rooms temperature, keeping it balanced with a difference of 2 – 3 degrees from floor to ceiling. Ahh!

1.) Digital LCD screen w/ controls
2.) Remote control

For those of you with sinus problems or allergies, you’ll love the air purification function. The removable filter is located on the back and easily accessible for cleaning when it becomes covered in dust or other debris. Just simply rinse the dust away, let the filter air dry and replace it. That’s it!

If you’re looking for quality in a heater, Heat Storm heaters are it. Traditional heaters typically have a single heat exchanger but all Heat Storm heaters have two. Their Tungsten and Carbon Fiber elements reach temperatures of 2000+ degrees F, whereas normal space heater elements rarely exceed 500 degrees F.

Going a step further, Heat Storm heaters are smarter too. They’re focused on keeping you warm but saving you money on your heating bills is their second priority. All of their heaters feature the heat³ (pronounced: heat cube) technology which means they automate how much energy should be used based on the ambient temperature. Not only do Heat Storm’s heaters feature a digital thermostat that’s sensitive within 1 degree F, they also know when to switch between full and partial power.

This intelligence reduces large energy spikes— putting money back in your pocket! What other heat source does that?

  • lisa says:

I love a portable heater. When we bought our home it had an oil tank for heating. EXPENSIVE! My husband installed a heat pump and we have a gas log. We play it by ear on which form of heat we use. With a portable heater that baby would be in whatever room I was in.

  • Eileen Richter says:

WOw that is a premium one! That is one big unit to heat 1000sq. feet. The one we were looking at only does 400, and has not display and I LOVE that it is on casters and easy to move about. WE really need one for a porch we are trying to close in..yeah, still this winter since the project did not get off the ground. And our daughter whose room is encased withIN the porch has NO window in right now. It is like 60 in her room. We have to find a heater fast in order to try to use for our Jan. 18th little family celly here. I am afraid to tell my hubby the price but I am thinking this is something we dont want to skimp on. It might be good to use down in our basement family room too. It gets SO chilly down there I seldom even go down there in winter. Thanks for a great product review. Am so glad you do such an array of different products like this too.

  • Christina Strapp says:

This is a really nice looking portable heater.

  • mysweetiepiepie says:

I really like the look of this heater and the fact that it can heat such a large area.

  • Cheryl Rahkonen says:

I would love that this heater combines with humidity and results in a soft, moist heat. We’ve got snow up to our rooftops, well it seems like it when you 6-7 inches of snow in Arkansas. I just can’t seem to get warm and must stay bundled up all the time, which I hate almost as much as the cold. I spend a lot of my time on the computer but the computer room is the coldest room in the house–I need the Logan heater in here.

  • lisa says:

I love that this heats a small room. With our little space heater it has to be right next to me to feel any warmth.

I like that it pushes the air out, my apt. is a balmy (sarcastic) 65 degrees, I have a little tower heater that I have to keep right at my toes to feel the heat. I really don’t like being cold. Not one little bit. Vicki.

  • Karen Glatt says:

I like this heater a lot because I can easily move it from room to room, and it can heat up to 1000 square feet and that is the size area that I need to heat! It also has a remote that I can control the heat with and a air purifier! Awesome heater to own!

  • Pam H. says:

My house needs a heater like the Logan Portable Infrared Heater. It is so cold during the winter, especially the basement. I like that this heater puts out 1,500 watts of infrared heat and covers up to 1,000 square feet. I also like all the features, including remote control and LED display. Thanks for the review.

  • Judy Dailey says:

You have great comment on this heater , I may have to check into purchasing if i don’t win it . lol.

  • Rebecca Reinwalt says:

This is exactly what we need in our home. The idiot that built it in the 60’s put all the vents at ceiling height, so the floors are constantly cold, no matter what the temperature is set at. We currently run 4 portable heaters to keep the floors half way warm .. and then they have to be directed at your feet or they turn to ice pops. The Logan Portable Infrared Heater would heat up the house without having to move it.

  • Diane Cooper says:

I really need one of these! My husband and I live in a big, old house that we are renovating and it isn’t very well insulated, and there is no way we can afford to heat the whole house. I could roll this around from room to room, where I might be working!

I love this heater for its walnut finish! I don’t want a heater that just looks big and clunky.

  • Marlyce Hammen-Suter says:

Thanks for the review. Sounds like a great little heater. Compact, heats up to 1000 square feet, remote control……what’s not to like about it. I keep my thermostat set low but this would make a nice additional heat source for short periods of time.

  • Faye Mc says:

I like the fact the heating elements are enclosed and that there are no exposed hot wires. Too many heaters feel unsafe. Stylish to boot. Nice little portable heater.

  • Susan Broughton says:

I really like to use a portable heater so you can move it from room to room to where you need the heat focused at that time. This one looks like it is good quality and a really good size as well.

  • CRWilson1985 says:

Would love to have something like this because the insulation in our home is so thin! Would def cut back on the electricity bill!

  • krista grandstaff says:

My crazy, drafty old farm house could def use this, especially on the ground floor – I love that it isn’t a drying heat, that’s the drawback of the heater and furnace that we have now, and it’s making us all itch like mad :)

  • Lisa F. says:

A heater with an air purifier too? Pretty cool! I can see my dogs and cat wanting to lie in front of this. LOL!

  • Nancy Lynn Hilderbrand says:

This heater is awesome. I live in a house partially heated by a wood stove. Three of our six rooms are warm but the others aren’t. I am disabled and spend a lot of time in the computer room with a blanket for warmth and our bathroom is like an outhouse

  • Rebecca Peters says:

  • Susan Johnson says:

What a superior quality heater. Not only does it look nice and fit into the decor like a piece of furniture, but it comes with incredible heating capability, and the heat is more intense because of the infrared quartz. I love that it has a remote and is capable of knowing when to go from full heating to half once the room is heated. Thanks for the interview!

  • Tim Bowers says:

This heater is so awesome! I really need something like this, as my other little heater is going out and the thermostat is staying at 55. Power bills are getting horrendous!

  • Kamla L. says:

I live in an apartment where they say the heat is included but the blower that brings the heat into the apartments are on each individual’s electric meter. Hmmm???? Always sounded like a farce to me!! I live on Long Island NY, and the electric costs here are OUTRAGEOUS!! My apartment doesn’t maintain temperature well at all. In the summer, I have to constantly run the AC just to maintain 74 degrees. Same in the winter. The heater has practically be constantly blowing to maintain 70 degrees. Even then, 70 degrees still feels chilly. The Logan Portable Infrared Quartz Heater sounds like a miracle answer to my problem. The savings on my electric bill would be a huge blessing!!!

  • lisa says:

Portable space heaters have come a long way from the old on-off type.

  • Robin Abrams says:

I love these heaters. Expecially love that they have remote . I could really use one of these in my kitchen poor heat in there

  • Stacy Peart says:

  • Renee says:

My husband and I have been talking about a space heater lately. Heaters sure have come a long way since those old Kerosene heaters. This one looks so safe

  • Jesselyn A/Jesstinger says:

My Hubby/Honey has gotten more and more involved in his hobby/home businesses: woodworking and bicycle renovation/repair. He has very much outgrown his workshop in the basement and has all but converted most of the garage into a wonderful workshop space…

…there’s just one BIG problem: we live in Chicagoland and the garage is NOT heated! He likes to work year ’round – if anything even more in the Winter when other outdoor activities are less tempting/available. This will be his first Winter trying to work out there – and the small space heater we’ve got is neither adequate nor (in my opinion) SAFE. I worry about both the possibility of fire and even more of the air quality to say the least…

Thanks for the genuinely helpful and informative review – which I will pass on to my guy – you’ve got me sold!

  • Buddy Garrett says:

  • ellen beck says:

  • Sunnymay says:

Having a filter means the air quality in the room is improved which is a big help for those who have are immune-challenged, have asthma, have respiratory allergies or get frequent colds.
Keeping the heat balanced within 2-3 degrees from ceiling to floor is great, too.

  • Carole Ingram says:

I have had the worse luck with our new home hvac! It died twice last year and once so far this year…the house is not even two years old and we have had heating issues three times!! It’s cold here in Ohio and I could have used a portable heater such as this one to help keep some of the house a bit warmer! Next year, I fully plan on having something supplement my house heating system since the builder put a lemon hvac with our home!!! I’m considering this product and will do more research! Thanks for the review.

  • This post is from 2 years ago so the code has expired. You might want to contact the brand to see if they have any active codes for purchases.
