Babies spend approximately 40 weeks (or more) growing in the womb. They become accustomed to their close quarters (and the safety of mom).

bbc4gOnce they’re out in the world it’s only natural they want to (or expect to) continue that closeness, relying on mom to fulfill their every need. It’s comforting for them to be close to the woman they’ve developed a bond with for so many weeks.

The only problem is, mommy can’t spend every waking moment holding baby in her arms.

That’s why babywearing is great for not only baby but mommy as well. The act of babywearing has actually been practiced for centuries around the world but not every parent has taken advantage of the concept. It’s truly sad because there are many benefits as I’ve recently learned with my new grandson.

When my kids were young I didn’t own a carrier, or at least the style I’m introducing you to today. And to think about all I could have accomplished had I done so, WOW it would have been amazing. I DID learn how to multi-task but in a different way— as tiring as it was. hahaa!

Thankfully parents have Boba, the creator of the Boba Carrier, Boba Air and Boba Wrap, to go to for the highest quality baby wearing products available on the market today. No longer do you have to suffer the conundrum of fulfilling a relationship with your child while living your own balanced life.

Just recently Boba introduced their newest creation— the Boba Carrier 4G and gave me the opportunity to check it out.

Because I’m not experienced with babywearing or carriers in general, I can’t really compare the 4G to other brands but I’ll share with you my experience and you can see for yourself how it compares.

When I first received the Boba Carrier 4G (in black) I was a little intimidated because I really didn’t know what to expect. But after reading the included manual and watching some videos (the newborn hold & front carry) I felt more confident and was ready to give this “baby” a try.

Before getting started I took a close look at the different features you get with the new Carrier 4G.

1.) Integrated infant insert   2.) Back view w/ straps secured
3.) Back waist buckle   4.) Front view w/ baby in tow

Being 5′ 3″ the Carrier 4G fits me quite comfortably. Since it adjusts SO easily we can change it to accommodate hubby, Gina (baby’s mom), and my 6′ son Derek’s frame in a snap. I love that the 4G comes with the integrated infant insert to help boost 14 week old Baby E higher in the carrier so he can look out at his surroundings and we can keep a closer eye on him as well.

Plus, when we’re out on a sunny day the removable sleeping hood comes in handy. I love that it can be rolled up and stored inside the zippered pocket! Speaking of pockets, the Carrier 4G also comes with 2 pockets on the waist belt— the perfect spot for mom’s cellphone, keys, credit card, or even lipstick.

Baby E is too young for the removable foot straps but for older children, they would make a great feature to help prevent tired legs. Another great feature is the additional strap adjustment for breastfeeding mama’s!

The Boba Carrier 4G is definitely well-made and sturdy. I’ve had no problems with tears or breakage and Baby E stays put, right where he should be. I’m really kicking myself for not looking into baby carriers like these back when my kids were babies (not that they were SO advanced back then). The 4G is comfortable to wear and makes being closer to baby a whole lot easier and more convenient.
