tylnl-sif~ I have received information and products from McNeil Consumer Healthcare Division of McNeil-PPC, Inc., the makers of TYLENOL®. The opinions stated are my own. This is a sponsored post for SheSpeaks. ~

It’s inevitable… with viruses and bacteria all around us… at some point in your child’s young life they’re going to come down with a cold.

No matter how bad it hurts us as parents to see our children suffer, it happens. They run fevers, get stuffy noses, annoying coughs and sore throats and the frowns and puppy dog eyes appear. Poor babies— I really dislike seeing them like this!

But then, all of a sudden they’re perking up, they’re getting back to their old selves and it happens… an “I feel better” smile appears. Aww, that’s what we’ve been waiting for! It’s such a joyous occasion for everyone, isn’t it?

After my children are sick and flash that pearly smile a feeling of peace and happiness comes over me. I feel a sigh of relief because my babies, no matter how old they become, are cleared of the “germies” and can get back to doing what makes them happy. Now that I’m a new grandma the whole cycle starts over again.

This makes ME smile… “Grandpa” giving his grandson comfort!

Just a few short weeks ago my little grandson started feeling icky. He became congested and was running a slight fever. Because he was under the age of one month it was a bit scary. Luckily though his temperature didn’t go that high and after a few days he was feeling better. Thank goodness!

Boy was it ever exciting to see him flash that “feel better” smile after it was all over— I just wanted to squeeze him tight and kiss him all over his cute baby face. hehee!

Inspired by the “feel better” smiles shared by moms (and grandmas) like me, the makers of TYLENOL® are partnering with How I Met Your Mother star and mom of two, Alyson Hannigan, to launch the SMILING IT FORWARD™ campaign.

When you share a photograph that makes you smile at SmilingItForward.com, TYLENOL® will make a $1 donation to the Children’s Health Fund. That donation helps children in need see a doctor and receive the care they deserve (up to $100,000).

Your smiles make a difference!

I’m SMILING IT FORWARD™ because as a child I was sick quite frequently. I spent a lot of time in the hospital (on many occasions) and nearly died after suffering pneumonia and the croup at the same time. At the age of 12 I required emergency surgery to correct a defect I had at birth. Had I not had that surgery I wouldn’t be here today to share my story with all of you.

I know how it feels to feel drained not only physically but emotionally as well– being away from family and not out enjoying the beautiful weather or playing with friends.

I can’t imagine not having the resources to obtain the treatments needed to feel better so in sharing my photos, I’m honored to help donate to children who are not as lucky as I was.

Join me in SMILING IT FORWARD™ and submit your smile photos at SmilingItForward.com!

*Between September 17, 2013 and January 31, 2014, McNeil Consumer Healthcare Division of McNEIL- PPC, Inc., the makers of TYLENOL®, is inviting anyone 18 and older to share a photo that makes them smile on SmilingItForward.com. Each photo approved & shared will trigger a $1.00 donation from TYLENOL® to Children’s Health Fund, with a minimum donation of $75,000 and a maximum donation of $100,000. Review Terms and Conditions for complete program details. For information about Children’s Health Fund, visit www.childrenshealthfund.org.
