~ Thank you to InGenuity & Bright Starts for providing samples in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are strictly my own! ~
As you know, Gina was hospitalized during her pregnancy for 2 months due to complications. It was very rough on her, not only physically but mentally as well.
She wanted SO much to get out and shop for her baby and prepare everything like moms typically do when they’re awaiting the arrival of their newborn. Unfortunately, she wasn’t able to. She did experience the “nesting” phase while in the hospital but since she was bedridden, it was a bit of a battle. haha!
To help Gina along I rolled up my sleeves and got to work, making sure everything was in order and that she had everything I could possibly think of so she could focus more on her pregnancy and the health of her baby.
Of course when it came to her shopping list, being that this was her first born, she needed everything. Oh boy, I had my work cut out for me. hehee! No, it really wasn’t that hard. See, I’ve worked with some really fabulous brands over the past few years and I knew exactly where to turn— I know where quality is.
Bright Starts is one brand that spews quality in their products so when it came to baby gear, I knew their products would be perfect for my grand baby.
Lucky for Gina, Bright Starts offered to send their newest addition to their InGenuity collection — the Sahara Burst Gentle Automatic Bouncer, portable ConvertMe Swing, and Washable Playard with Dream Centre. Awesome, right? Absolutely!
Not only are these products attractive but they’re easy to assemble, they offer deluxe features, they’re extremely portable AND the covers are machine washable. See, I told you they’re awesome!!!
1.) Out of the box. 2.) Outer frame.
3.) Swing & Sounds controls. 4.) Vibration control.
Babies naturally love to swing and sway and with the new InGenuity ConvertMe Swing-2-Seat ($79.99) your baby can swing in harmony no matter where he or she is. Why? Because this awesome swing is portable.
I love the soft, plush covering on the ConvertMe Swing. It has a taupe colored border with a cream colored middle and some truly adorable little elephants embroidered in the center. It also features a removable head rest for added comfort.
The baby boy enjoying his new swing!
The features we love most are the automatic timer which allows for 30, 45, and 60 minute intervals, the music and nature sound box, and that the seat can lock into place and vibrate. The fact that this swing folds flat and can be taken on trips is like icing on the cake.
All 3 of the Sahara Burst products arrived just before my grandson came home so it was perfect timing. He’s getting a lot of use out of these amazing products— it’s obvious he loves them. He hasn’t squawked once and he’s really entranced by those plush elephants. hehee!
1.) Out of the box. 2.) Outer frame.
3.) Completed bouncer seat.
Although it’s really tough (since they’re so adorable), you can’t hold your newborn 24 hours a day. At times you have to put them down and give them time to explore the world. That’s why having a bouncer seat is a must.
It gives you hands-free time to do other things and baby gets a chance to learn to self soothe, and look at things from a different angle. The InGenuity Gentle Automatic Bouncer seat ($49.99) is perfect for baby solo time.
The Gentle Automatic Bouncer seat comes with a soft, plush covering just like the swing. The colors and patterns are nearly identical with the exception of the toy bar. The bouncer features a removable toy bar. And yes, it has those adorable little elephants too. hehee!
Also, just like the ConvertMe swing, the bouncer plays music, and nature sounds. Plus, it features a heartbeat sound which is soothing to young babies. And you can set the automatic timer for 30 minutes of sound and motion. It’s the only bouncer that gently bounces on it’s own to soothe and relax baby! We love that!!!
1.) Out of the box. 2.) Playard
3.) Bassinet 4.) All set up and ready to use.
If you travel a lot, you’ll love the InGenuity Washable Playard with Dream Centre ($119.99). It has nearly all of the luxuries of home, right at your fingertips no matter where you go.
Young babies can lounge in the removable bassinet, have some tummy time in the padded play yard, and get diapers changed conveniently on the removable changing table.
The bassinet features an overhead toy bar with, you guessed it, those adorable plush elephants. And the playard offers plenty of storage space for those extra diapers, wipes, skincare, or other essentials babies need— even clothes. For safety purposes the playard comes with locking wheels so it stays put. Gotta love that!
You’ll also enjoy the convenience of easy on/off zippered fabrics. Yes, you can remove those and toss them in your washing machine. We all know that babies soil nearly everything they come into contact with whether it be due to dirty diapers or spit ups. So having the ability to remove the coverings to fight against messy spills, dirt, dust and other allergens is perfect!
When not in use the One Less Step™ feature allows you to quickly fold the playard for easy transporting and storage. It comes with a convenient storage pouch to help with moving and the prevention of soiling.
Overall we really love the Sahara Burst collection and because each product is made of quality materials I have no doubt that Gina will be able to use the products to their full potential— until baby outgrows them.
If I had to mention any “less than perfect” aspects with any of these products, I would have to say I would love to see some improvements with the following:
ConvertMe Swing — the latching mechanism on the harness is very hard to unlatch. If, for some reason my grandson needed to be removed from the seat in a hurry, it would be nearly impossible. The latch, even when depressed very hard does not unlatch very well. It can take several minutes to get it apart. I see a safety hazard here!
Washable Playard — this item is a bit heavy (weighing in at 30 pounds). The assembly can be a little difficult if you are doing it by yourself. It’s much easier with two people. Plus, the instruction manual is a little confusing. The inclusion of easier to follow steps with images would be great.
Battery requirements — on the swing. I was shocked to find out that the swing requires not only four – D batteries but two C batteries as well. The D batteries operate the swinging and sound features and the C batteries operate the vibration. Considering the cost of batteries, those costs can add up pretty quickly, especially if the swing is used frequently.
Aside from those issues, these products are very nice. Plus, they’re affordable considering all of the great features you get!
The InGenuity Sahara Burst baby gear collection is currently available at Target stores in the U.S. nationwide.
