~ Thank you to Almondina for providing samples in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are strictly my own! ~
If you’re one of my daily readers you know all about my sweet tooth. It’s HUGE!!!
I love my goodies, especially the homemade kind but sadly I don’t always have the time, or energy to dedicate to making them myself. Boo!
Something else about me (if you didn’t already know) I love trying new things. I’ll try anything once, especially if it’s edible. hahaa! You just never know if you like something or not if you don’t give it a nibble first, right? That’s how I am with food and that’s how I’ve raised my kids… try something at least once and if you don’t like it, you don’t have to eat it.
My kids have developed a wide palette because they’re not afraid to try new foods. Ahh, I’m so proud. hehee!
We recently had the opportunity to taste test a variety of “biscuits” from Almondina. Have you heard of them? They’re thin, crisp, rectangle-shaped wafer-like cookies with a slightly sweet satisfying taste.
The Almondina originated in the kitchen of a French/Israeli grandmother named Dina. It was her secret recipe that many have come to know and love.
So what makes these cookies so special? They’re made of all-natural ingredients including almonds, flour, sugar, egg whites, raisins and natural flavors.
I fell in love instantly with the Original Almondina because I love almonds and the sweetness from the chewy raisins. The combination gives you a crunchy, then chewy consistency.
Almondina is available in 15 different flavors including:
1.) Gingerspice 2.) The Original Almondina
3.) Cinnaroma 4.) Sesame 5.) Almonduo
6.) The Original Almondina 7.) Chocolate Cherry 8.) Choconut
You can purchase Almondina by the tray (4 ounces), 4.75 ounce box, or in sampler packs and gift boxes.
Almondina cookies are available for purchase online at www.almondina.com. As well as Walmart, Publix, Trader Joes, and Whole Foods. Prices may vary per store.
Aside from the tasty flavors, I can’t help but appreciate that these confections are made with no added fat or salt, no cholesterol, and no preservatives. Plus, there’s minimal calories so you get a healthier snack that satisfies the sweet tooth but with no lingering guilt.
Try Almondina sandwiched between ricotta or cream cheese for a more savory taste. Or crumble them onto your favorite ice creams and other desserts for an added crunch. Yum!
