~ I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Boys & Girls Clubs of America. I received a promotional item as a thank you for participating. ~
As excited as you and your child may or may not be about heading back to school and the whole back-to-school shopping season, unfortunately many children will be heading back to school or attending school for the first time unarmed with the essentials they need to develop the creativity and confidence needed to succeed in life.
That’s why I’m thrilled beyond belief to join the Boys & Girls Club of America (BGCA) and JcPenney in the initiative “JcPenney Cares Round Up“ to help make a difference in supporting after school programs at the BGCA’s across the country.
I’m also excited to announce that I am a Boys & Girls Club of America (BGCA) Back-to-School ambassador!
For more than 100 years, the Boys & Girls Club of America has provided kids with a safe environment and engaging activities to help them reach their full potential as productive and responsible citizens. Each year the BGCA helps prepare nearly 2 million kids to succeed in school by providing after school programs, a caring mentor, or simply contributing notebooks and pencils, BGCA strives to enable all kids to achieve great futures.
While my children have always had the luxury of coming home to a safe, secure environment after school, not all children do and that’s why I LOVE the BGCA so much. No parent wants to have to worry about their child’s safety, especially if they’re home unsupervised. I mean what a huge stress that puts on a parent who’s already working hard to support and nurture their child.
The BGCA is a great place for kids to learn, grow and get the help they need for homework. Plus, it gives them pride in knowing they’re a part of something great!
HELP MAKE A DIFFERENCE
By joining in BGCA’s Tools for Back to School online supply drive or rounding up your purchase at JcPenney, your donations can offer a plethora of ways to help a child begin the new school year on the right foot.
If you do your back-to-school shopping or any shopping at JcPenney, ask your cashier to “round up” your order to the nearest whole dollar. In doing so you are giving a donation that will make a positive impact in the lives of many children where the emphasis is on academic success, building good character, and living a healthy lifestyle.
Supporting the kids who attend the BGCA is easy— even if you’re on a tight budget, a few cents goes a long, long way to helping the less fortunate achieve a lifetime of success.
