When it comes to holidays, Easter, in my opinion is definitely one of the funnest.
And why do I feel that way? Well, because my family and I (as a tradition) still enjoy participating in egg hunts, dying hard boiled eggs, and giving overflowing baskets full of goodies as gifts.
Oh I can still remember my kids when they were tiny tots wobbling around our yard, toting their little baskets as they studied each and every tree and bush in search of those plastic eggs.
They were SO excited! Hubby and I couldn’t help but giggle as they focused more on finding their next egg than making sure their eggs they had just picked up actually made it into their baskets. I don’t know how many times the just-found eggs wound up back on the ground instead of in the baskets. hehee! It sure did prolong the hunt but who cared. It was all in fun.

Although my kids are older now they still secretly want to join in the hunts and get those eggs. hahaa!
I love the pastel colors that are associated with Easter as well. They’re so bright and cheery like the spring flowers that start peeking their little stems from within the snow covered grounds just before the season begins, then entrance us with their colorful displays throughout spring.
Boy do they smell amazing. I love the light scent of hyacinths and the Korean Lilac Tree that I planted aside our deck out back never fails to please. It’s always covered in blooms that are SO intoxicatingly sweet. Hubby and I always look forward to opening the back windows and door so that the tree’s sweet perfume can blow through our home each year.
Speaking of sweet, what would Easter be without the treats? Well I know one thing hubby can’t do without and that is his REESE’S Peanut Butter Eggs. He is totally hooked. Obviously the Easter Bunny isn’t getting away from our house without dropping off some of those adored goodies. They ARE pretty tasty!
My favorite is the Mounds and Almond Joy bars — sweet coconut and chocolate. Mmm…. and for a refreshing taste, you’ve got to have York Peppermint Patties. Those are not only yummy but great at freshening your breath.
Hershey’s sure knows how to make your taste buds happy, don’t they? They definitely helped mine along here recently. Did you catch my update on Facebook about the Easter Bunny coming to visit me early this year? Yep, he sure did. Hershey’s sent the hippity-hoppity furball to my home, armed with a basket full of goodies. Now THAT put a huge smile on my face when it arrived!
How did I get SO lucky? Well, I received an invite asking me to hop on the Hershey’s Bunny Trail and customize an Easter Basket for myself or to gift to a loved one. I got to choose the color of my basket and grass, then select 5 of my favorite candies. And just a few days later my beautiful cello covered basket arrived at my door, all tied up with a bow. Sounds exciting, right? It sure was.
Here’s what my lovely pastel purple wooden basket contained:
Now if I can just hide those mini REESTER BUNNIES so hubby don’t gobble them up too quickly, I’ll be pretty happy. hehee!
