One of my all-time favorite activities as a kid was skipping along as I played joyfully outdoors. Honestly it was a natural part of who I was, a young, happy, always smiling little girl (aside from spending so much time being sick and in hospitals).
I LOVED being outside and playing with friends. It was such a freeing experience!
Something else I always loved was playing hands-on games such as Twister. You could just be yourself, which for me meant being silly. Bending and reaching to touch the colored circles on the rather slippery game “board” while your opponents became intertwined as they did the same. It was a little challenging but fun and full of laughs.
Imagine my surprise when I found out that Hasbro took both of these childhood past times and combined them to create their newest games Twister Rave Skip It and Twister Rave Ringz.
With Twister Rave Skip-It, the object to winning the game isn’t about reaching and bending but skipping and jumping to light up Twisters iconic colors —- red, blue, yellow and green.
To play, you simply place the hoop around your ankle, swing your foot so that the Skip-It device moves in a circle and as you do, hop over it as it spins around— the colors glow as you skip and the more you jump and make it over Skip-It, the more colors that glow. Once you’ve gotten all 4 colors to light up, you’ve mastered the game!
This game does take a bit of coordination, which for some may come natural. For others, well practice makes perfect. hahaa!
Now for me, I was able to get it going and mastered all 4 colors in no time. Hubby, umm, yeah, he needs practice. Sorry babe, I had to tell. After a few tries Derek got it down. And I have yet to get Gina to try it but she’s next on my list. hehee!
It’s a fun game that provides a little physical work-out since it gets your blood pumping. Depending on how long you skip, you can certainly work up a sweat.
* Twister Rave Skip-It is not recommended for play in complete darkness— for safety purposes, and requires 3 “AA” batteries (not included).
Twister Rave Ringz, on the other hand is as the name describes— a ring that you wear upon your finger. Girls will certainly enjoy this fast-moving game!
It comes in 4 color options including pink, black, yellow and blue. Every girl loves a little bling-bling, right? hehee!
This challenging game requires each player to twist, snap, and clap to keep the beat going to more than 20 different hand clap games you’ll find at www.PlayTwister.com. Join the rave party as you learn new tricks and take the fun to a whole new level.
While wearing the ring, each movement causes it to light up and change in color for some super bright and glowing fun. Match the light patterns or create a light show of your own.
The great thing about this game, besides the fact that it keeps you on your toes as your moving your hands and fingers, is that it comes with two rings per package. Now you can play against an opponent as you strive to stay in rhythm.
* The Twister Rave Ringz each require 3 A76 alkaline cell batteries (demo batteries included).
Twister Rave Skip-It was designed for children ages 6 and up and the Twister Rave Ringz game was designed for ages 8 and up. Of course you don’t have to be a kid to play these fun, fast-paced games. Just a kid at heart!
Both fun-filled games can easily be transported to a friends house for a slumber party, to the park or anywhere you want to start an impromptu game.
