When it came to my babies, safety was my number one priority (aside from proper nutrition).
And for my new grand child, who’s expected arrival is in August, things haven’t changed. His or her safety will obviously come first. That’s why when the topic of infant car seats came up, I knew exactly where to turn… Safety 1st®.
My past experiences with Safety 1st have been nothing less than perfect. I mean, when you care so much about children the way Safety 1st does, it can’t get any better than that. They put as much time, effort and love into their products as we (the parents) do into our own children— and that says and means a lot!
I’m a true baby gear fanatic. I love the latest and greatest styles, colors and technology so obviously I gravitate toward companies that stand for nothing less than the best— best materials, best and most advanced features. Not to mention those that can offer the most bang for your buck. And when you put all of that together, you get Safety 1st (in everything they create).
As far as infant car seats go, the onBoard™ 35 Air surpasses quality and safety in every step of the way. Safety 1st spared no expense when they designed this awesome product!
Sure, by first sight you see an attractive, cushy car seat but there’s much more than that. Take a closer look!
The one major feature I want to point out here is the double-layered side impact protection system called Air Protect®. When Safety 1st engineers designed Air Protect, they used test methods that simulated the most violent types of side impact crashes — those with vehicle intrusion.
The Air Protect system works in 2 vital ways to protect your child— in the event of a collision, the system shields your child’s head from impact. And as the second layer of defense, Air Protect allows air to escape from the headrest, channeling crash energy away from your child and extending the amount of time it takes to slow your child’s movement.
Did you know that one in four crashes involving children result in side-impact (the most dangerous) collisions?
Take a look at Safety 1st and Dorel, the makers of the onBoard 35 Air car seat
This is what makes the onBoard 35 Air infant car seat THE best defensive protection for your baby! It’s what THIS seat was built for.
You’ll also appreciate how easy this seat is to use. From transporting to installation in your vehicle, the onBoard 35 Air scores high in simplicity.
1.) Looking from the top down (molded white styrofoam & thick airfilled foam)
2.) Looking from the bottom up (a thick molded styrofoam)
The Carry Curve Handle features an ergonomic design, making it comfortable to carry no matter if you are right or left handed. And the adjustable stay-in-car base with it’s integrated belt lock, plus the one-click LATCH system allows for fast installation. Proper installation IS a must which is why Safety 1st also added an easy-to-read level indicator.
I really love the snug fit babies get with the onBoard 35 Air. And it’s not just in the cushion-y 1/2″ thick padding either. The solid non-flimsy plastic molded underlying structure plays a vital role in giving baby the most comfortable, yet safest ride possible. Don’t be fooled by those competitors ads in regards to their froo-froo fabrics. THAT does not make a safe car seat! It’s the underlying structure that does.
This seat is designed for rear facing installation, for use with infants from 4 pounds up to a full 35 pounds. It comes with a removable, customizable head rest that’s perfect for new babies (especially preemies). It also comes with low harness slots so smaller babies get a snugger fit and it can be adjusted as baby grows.
1.) 5-point harness 2.) Base Belt Lock
3.) Seat belt hook 4.) Adjustable locking handle (if it doesn’t show green, it’s not locked in place)
So far, I have found that the best, and easiest way to remove the seat from the base (when inside the car) is by tilting it toward the same direction as the latch (backwards), all while pressing down on the seat and pulling up on the latch. It comes out effortlessly and you don’t have to awaken baby. Plus, this baby fits perfectly atop the stroller we chose. A true match made in heaven. hehee!
Obviously we don’t currently have an infant to place in the onBoard 35 Air to show you exactly how this seat fits (in comparison to others) but I HAVE been playing around with it— checking out all the features. So, when the time comes, installation will be like second nature— a true breeze.
ADDITIONAL FEATURES:
I can’t say enough how much I love this car seat and I’m excited to be able to provide my grand child with such sleek, comfort and style without sacrificing safety.
