One of the necessities on Gina’s wish list for her unborn child is, of course a crib. A babe has to have a place to slumber, right? hehee!
And when I saw her listing I knew exactly where this all-important item would come from. Knowing the superb quality that Delta Children’s Products has to offer, I didn’t hesitate to scope out the perfect crib for my grand child on their website.
As you may remember I worked with Delta last year on a review of their Eclipse glider and ottoman combo and was quite impressed with the styling and quality materials. It’s still holding up, looks just as beautiful as the day I received it, and definitely still one of my favorite places to sit.
What’s great about Delta’s nursery furniture is that it’s made of solid hardwood, no MDF or particle board like their competitors. And they’re very sturdy. So, why would I choose any other brand?
Once Gina looked over the styles and colors Delta offers she decided on the black Canton 4 in 1 Convertible Crib. It’s actually quite beautiful with curves in all the right places and the black finish up against bright colors is very attractive!
The Canton has sort of a sleigh bed kind of style, don’t you think?
PRODUCT FEATURES:
I really can’t boast enough about how nice this crib truly is. Sure it looks pretty on the website but once you actually see it put together, it’s breathtaking!
Assembly was extremely easy too. My hubby helped get everything started and Gina and I kind of took over from there. She wanted to be a part of building her baby’s bed. hehee!
As hubby and I always do, we started by laying out all of the pieces and matching each piece with the parts list in the manual. Yep, everything was there so we began. I really appreciate when an instruction manual includes images to go along with each step. It makes it SO much easier, not to mention it doesn’t take as much time trying to figure everything out.
1.) Well packed during shipping 2.) Mom-to-be helping the assembly
3.) Nonno (grandpa) attaching a screw 4.) Almost finished
I also love when all of the pre-drilled holes match up and the screws go in as they should. Everything went smoothly with the Canton crib and in no time it was finished.
This crib is super sturdy. It doesn’t weigh a lot so it’s easy to move for cleaning or rearranging purposes, but the legs are nice and thick and the counter sunk screws make for a much tighter fit and heftier feel. It would take quite a bit of effort for an adult to tip this bed so I’m definitely not worried about safety here.
HOW DOES IT MEASURE UP?
The Canton 4 in 1 Convertible Crib measures 54″ x 33.4″ x 41.4″ and weighs 65 pounds.
With this beauty you get literally 4 beds in one; a sleek, and elegant crib, a toddler bed (comes with the toddler bed rail), daybed and full-size bed (side boards not included). A great deal for the price!
Now once we find out the baby’s gender we can get some bedding!
I can’t wait to paint those bright purple walls. hahaa!
One thing I want to mention, which may not be a big deal to you, is that Delta took the time to attach the manual envelope to the springs (with wire ties) on the crib. Reason being, it helps you keep the instruction manual in a location that is easy to remember and find in case you need it. So, the manual is stored underneath the mattress at all times.
Also, the crib springs (supports) are covered in a thick, hard rust proof finish. I love the consistent black stain finish on the wood as well. And if your child decides to use the rails to gnaw on when they’re in the teething stage, it wouldn’t be a huge deal in refinishing this crib. Especially since it’s made of real hardwood. Delta has definitely went above and beyond with this crib and I love that!
BUY IT!
The Canton 4 in 1 Convertible Crib comes in 3 gorgeous color finishes; Black, Dark Cherry, and Espresso Cherry. You can purchase them at retailers such as Target, Toys R Us, and Walmart. As well as online at Amazon.com. MSRP is $249.99 and definitely worth the price.
Delta Children’s Products also offers an extensive line of additional furnishings to match each collection including the Canton so you can decorate your whole baby’s nursery in beautiful style. Plus, they’re very affordable!

Ahhh! I LOVE the Pikachu in the crib!!!! That is too cute!!! The price on these Delta cribs can’t be beat, and they are so sturdy and they look elegant!
haha, my daughter tossed that in there. It won’t stay there when the baby arrives but she wanted to dress up the bed a bit since we don’t have bedding yet.
What a beautiful crib! Really could last their whole life!
I agree Melissa. It sure will save a lot of money in the long run.
Beautiful crib and it looks sturdy!
I have been thinking of getting a new crib. My 3 yr old won’t give hers up yet… and I’ve used Delta before. I should head to the site and peek around. Thanks for the info!
This crib is beautiful! So glad you had the chance to review it and share it with us! Thank you.
This is exactly the kind of crib I want once I have a child! I love how it can be changed for different stages, yet still looks so pretty!
It’s amazing how innovative and versatile companies are becoming these days! I mean that bed is completely awesome how it’s convertible like that; you’ll EASILY have that through their infant and toddler days through to the age of 6 or 7!
Very thorough and in depth review
What a beautiful piece of furniture! I love their products and they are so well built that they last a long time!
Wish I had money to buy this for my own kids.
I like it. You save money and it’s very practical.
I love the color and the fact it is used from birth and up. Money saving.
I won’t be having another baby for awhile, but when I do I’m will def. be shopping at Delta!!
That is a beautiful crib. The crib my parents used when I was a baby was passed to my aunt for both of her sons, and then given to me when my daughter was born. It was looking pretty rough by the time my daughter grew out of it, and it was finally “retired”
The design on this crib is so beautiful. It looks like one of those fancy day beds for adults that are so pretty. I have wanted one of those for years. I like that you can convert this. That means you can get years and years out of it!
This crib is beautiful! I know my sister is looking for a new one, and I have to let her know about this one. Thanks.
Unlike our crib it looked and seemed like yours was easy to put together and switch to toddler bed! Not sure I’d use it as a day bed but would the toddler and love the sleek look of the full size!
Such a great idea – a convertible crib! Wish I would have bought one of these when I bought our crib. I went with a dresser/crib combo and the dresser was so flimsy the bottoms broke out before I had it a year. Shoulda bought a Delta.
