All Star Vacation Homes

The older I get the more I find myself paying closer attention to my skin — and I know I’m not alone here ladies. I’m sure you’re right there with me.

I do, however, not only fight the signs of aging but regular breakouts as well. For some reason the skin on my face still feels it’s going through puberty. Now my doctor told me years ago that my oily skin would wind up being a blessing because I would age more gracefully — putting off the sight of wrinkles. Well, she was right there, but I’ve noticed some loosening of my skin. Blah!

There’s also still the issue of uneven skin tone and sun damage. Yes, I used to be a sun goddess. hehee!

What’s most frustrating for me is once I apply foundation, in a very short time my face becomes shiny to the point that people ask me if I’m hot. Hmm, not really. Well, I AM going to be a pretty hot nonna (grandma) in a few months but no, because it’s winter I’m actually quite chilly. haha!

All joking aside I’m always on the lookout for products that can not only cover the flaws on my skin but something that will improve my skin overall and last throughout the day without needing touch ups. Is there such a thing? We shall see.

NEW PRODUCT ALERT!

I was recently given the opportunity to try out the new L’Oreal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream. Have you tried it?

What’s great about this product is that it’s said to provide an all-in-one solution to most skin problems. It’s formulated to prime, perfect, hydrate AND correct skin. Sounds amazing, right?

One thing I’ve always hated about the typical cream foundations I’ve used over the years is that they leave the skin on my face feeling uncomfortable — as if I’m wearing a mask because they’re so heavy. And after my face begins to shine, it literally becomes itchy, making me want to wash it off.

Liquid foundations are normally too thin and don’t cover anything, they just leave me looking orange. So, because I’m looking to cover flaws without looking ‘oompah loompah-ish’ I resort to cream foundations and just try to go lighter on the applications. Then touch up my makeup throughout the day.

L’Oreal’s magic skin beautifier doesn’t require that. It glides on my skin and feels light, not thick or cakey. Plus it works great at absorbing oil so my face continues to have a more matte-like finish, almost like I just put it on. It also gives my skin a more even tone and smoother overall appearance (minus a few bumps).

1.) Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream tube   2.) Liquid consistency
3.) See how it changes from a white to a tinted shade?  4.) Look how well it blended in

What surprised me most about the magic skin beautifier (which it’s name fits it perfectly) is that when it comes out of the tube it’s white (in a thin liquid consistency). But once you start to rub it in, it transforms into a light to medium tint that’s close to your own skin tone, in a more powder-like finish. The more you rub it in, the more it blends in.

What’s not to love about that?

I do want to mention that I did not use a loose powder (as normal) with this product because I wanted to get the full effect of the BB cream. Plus, I didn’t want to weigh the makeup down or make it cake up.

The only thing I did not like so much about this product is that it does not provide full coverage. I still found myself applying a concealer to hide old acne scars (not that I have many). And it does not contain an SPF.

Overall I don’t think this is a bad product, it’s a bit pricey for me, but if you normally don’t like to wear makeup, or don’t wear a lot, but want a more finished appearance, give this a try. It doesn’t require a lot of product during application.

BUY IT!

The L’Oreal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream comes in four color shades; fair, light, warm and deep in 1 ounce tubes. You can purchase it at retailers such as Walmart and Walgreens for an average price of $10.99.
