Everyone wants and needs to feel appreciated, at least from time to time. And just the act of flashing someone a smile, and/or saying “Thank you” is really a very simple gesture. Plus, costs nothing to give. It can truly brighten someones day.
I, myself have been thankful for many things in my life, but what I’m most thankful for are the people that make life worth living — my family. They’re my most treasured possessions!
Why is it though that we tend to take family for granted? We accept their help, their advice, their time, and they’re the first we run to in times of need, yet they’re seemingly the last people we thank for simple acts of kindness. Maybe because we come to expect it over the years since, well, they’re family. But is it right? No, not really! And that’s why I’m here today to give each of my family members a warm and loving, heartfelt… “Thank you”.
A TOAST TO THOSE I’M THANKFUL FOR:For my husband who is one of the most giving, hardworking, loving and thoughtful people I know —- Thank You! I’m proud of you and your strength to carry on, even when you haven’t had the energy to do so.
For my children, I’m proud of each and every one of you and your accomplishments. Never give up on your goals, press on even when you feel you can’t go on. It’s worth it in the end. I thank you for being you… the most beautiful beings I’ve ever known.
For my parents, I appreciate all that you did for me in my childhood and beyond. I also appreciate all that you went without just so you could give me a better life. Your love all these years has helped me grow to be a loving being myself. And for that… I thank you!
For my siblings, although we’ve had our disagreements (as siblings often do), I love and appreciate each and every one of you and thank you for being a part of my life.
For my grandparents who are no longer with us, I still hold special memories of each of you. I love and appreciate all that you did for me. I know you loved me dearly and that is why I am SO thankful for you. Thank you for being a part of my life (when you were here) — I miss you like crazy!
And for my special readers, I appreciate each and every one of you because if it weren’t for YOU, I wouldn’t be maintaining my blog. YOU are the reason I continue to write, to share my life with you. You drive me to continue on, even when sometimes I feel like giving up. Thank you!
I also want to give a special thank you to the folks representing Merci® European Chocolates because they recently contacted me and asked me to share the “Joy of Thank You” with someone and of course, as you can see, I couldn’t choose just one. hehee!
Now I’m the kind of person who says “thank you” on a regular basis but sometimes it may not come off as being sincere. That’s why I wanted to take a few moments out of my day to let all of you know what you mean to me.
It’s not often though that I share a “thank you” containing chocolates, champagne, and/or popcorn (ok, to be honest I never have) but thanks to Merci, I was able to do just that. See, Merci sent me a box of their divine assorted chocolates, 4 beautiful champagne flutes and 4 reusable plastic popcorn ‘bags’ and my family couldn’t wait to dig in.
I have to say, Merci chocolates are truly addictive. I had a hard time choosing which flavor was my favorite but if I had to choose, I would have to say it was the Praline Cream. YUMMY!
Here’s what you get in an assorted Merci Chocolates box:
See what I mean? Each and every one of these delicacies have a rich, creamy taste and texture that just melts in your mouth. It’s extremely hard not to dig in and devour the whole entire box in one sitting. I will say, it didn’t last long at all. They are scrumptious to say the least!
I’ve always enjoyed a little chocolate and wine together but chocolate and champagne is mighty tasty too. A true and elegant pair— especially if it’s Merci chocolate!
It’s the little things like this, when sharing them with family, that make my life worthwhile. It doesn’t cost a lot but truly says a lot, and means a lot too. Giving someone something so simple as a gesture — a smile, a “thank you” or even saying “I love you“ goes a long way. And you never know, it just might become a special memory for someone who truly could use or deserves a brighter day.
Now that you know what you all mean to me and how thankful I am for each and every one of you, the folks at Merci Chocolates wants to give a little “Thank you” gift to one of you so that you can experience (and share) their delicious chocolates with those who mean a lot to you.
