I don’t think I’ve ever met a boy who didn’t like to build or play with action figures. And to be honest, when I was a little girl, I too loved building with blocks.
I can still remember what those wooden pieces smelled like. That’s probably where my love of freshly cut wood began.
Building toys sure have changed over the years. I mean, comparing today’s building sets to those of days gone by, I’m truly amazed at how far they’ve came.
Take for instance KRE-O Transformers — created by Hasbro. I’m sure if you have a young boy in your home, you’ve already heard all about these hugely popular guys. Sure, they’re typical small building blocks at first glance, but once put together, these awesome toys become super cool action figures or heavy duty vehicles that are ready for battle.
With the KRE-O Transformers Battle for Energon, Megatron and Optimus Prime (super cool dudes) battle it out in robot mode or vehicle mode, creating the ultimate face off in the quest for control of Energon. Optimus Prime changes into a semi hauler, and Megatron into a tank within minutes using 4-in-1 construction capability.
Your child can also build a bank with swinging doors that contains a vault (to protect those precious dark Energon bricks) and an atm machine. Each set includes 4 small characters as well — one security guard, one tank driver, mini Optimus Prime and mini Megatron.
Optimus Prime, brave leader of the heroic autobots, comes complete with a firing missile launcher, plus opening doors, a hood that opens and working wheels (in vehicle mode). Megatron has a cockpit that opens, working treads, and a capture cage when in vehicle mode. Change him into robot mode and he has removable missiles as well.
KRE-O Transformers were created for real play, unlike other brands. What fun would toys that fall apart upon ‘impact’ be? They’re made for battle, right? And they’re definitely a lot of fun to play with! These sets are great for encouraging creative and imaginative play, not to mention building fine motor skills.
This building set, complete with 379 pieces, is recommended for children ages 7-14.
