When it comes to shopping I’m usually pretty good at picking out gifts for loved ones, well, that is except for those who seem to have everything.
So, I typically start with the easy ones and work my way down the list.
Once I get to the bottom (to the hard-to-buy-for names) and I’m doing some online shopping, everything tends to start looking the same. Or I think, “hmm, I wonder if they already have that” — which leaves me logging off and making no purchases.
After a while, and once time is running out, I find myself resorting to a gift card (a not so personal gift). I honestly dislike that. I want something special, something unique that I know they won’t already have.
And then I think NOVICA… a site that connects shoppers with thousands of master artists from around the world. With over 30,000 handmade works of art, of course I’m bound to find that unique gift that’s more than likely a one-of-a-kind in the states — or at least something I know my special someone won’t already own.
The only problem with NOVICA in the past was that I could spend literally hours trying to sort through everything they offer. Well, after listening to their customers (in regards to this very issue), NOVICA has solved this dilemma by creating the new gift finder.
Now there are many more ways to narrow your search based on — gifts for him, gifts for her, gifts for pets and so on. You can also search gifts by personality, which is great, so if you know a wine enthusiast, or trend setter there are categories for that. Or how about some eco-friendly gifts for the environmentally conscious friend in your life?
One of my favorite ways of searching is by region of origin.
No matter what your budget, NOVICA’s gift finder is a super easy and fun way to find something as extraordinary as the friends and family members on your holiday shopping list. I guarantee you’ll be amazed at the beautiful works of art that are created by the artisans highlighted on NOVICA’s site.
As one of the leading fair trade artisan websites, NOVICA.com works directly with National Geographic to give talented artisans around the world a place to express their artistic talents and provide access to the world market. And, when making your purchases, not only are you getting limited edition, one-of-a-kind pieces of jewelry, clothing, and home decor, but you’re also helping others (the artisans) who earn personal recognition and receive real-world prices for their work.
Isn’t that truly wonderful and inspiring? I certainly think so! The fact that you’re shopping NOVICA means you’re helping to preserve traditional crafts worldwide and can be a little more satisfied in your purchases.
From now until December 12, 2012, NOVICA is running a contest where YOU can win a $500 gift card to shop their site. Simply create a collection in your NOVICA gallery named “my list for Santa” and NOVICA will choose one lucky winner who will receive the gift card to purchase many of those gifts on your list.
For full details, head over to the NOVICA Facebook page and start making your collection.
Oh, and don’t go just yet because NOVICA is also offering one lucky Bella Savvy reader a $40 gift certificate* to help with their holiday shopping this year. Woohoo!
1 Winner will be chosen at random at the end of the entry period 12/30/12. Prize is a $40 gift certificate* in the form of an online gift code that’s valid until 01/31/13 — provided by NOVICA.
