Hand gestures — when I was growing up my mom always told me not to point. She said it was bad manners. Well I have to agree mom, although I catch you doing it from time to time. haha!
Of course you bet your buttons I tell her all about it when I catch her. LOL
To be honest I “talk” with my hands sometimes. Subconsciously I think it helps me get my point across. To some people (not in my conversation) it probably makes me look a little crazy. I picked that habit up from none other than mom too. Sorry mom, you’ve been busted!
Well, not all hand gestures are bad, especially when you’re using a 4v MAX GYRO rechargeable screwdriver designed by Black & Decker. Have you seen them?
These little guys pack a powerful punch and they’re quite smart too. How? Well, the GYRO uses gyroscopic technology that changes its direction and speed based on the movement of your hand or should I say wrist, giving you increased control.
So, there are no switches or buttons to push in order to get it to ‘go’. That’s an awesome feature in my opinion. Switches are one feature I am happy to do without. When you’re in the middle of a task (that you want done ‘now’) it’s quite annoying having to stop and hit a switch or push a button in order to change the direction of the bit.
With one simple motion the GYRO is rotating clockwise or counter-clockwise and sinking or removing those screws. They’re great for those tight work spaces since they’re nearly the size of a hand.
1.) Gripping the GYRO 2.) GYRO top view
3.) LED light just above my watermark 4.) Illuminated LED light
To use this awesome tool, just grasp it in the palm of your hand, place the bit atop your screw and give GYRO a squeeze, then turn your wrist in the direction you want the screw to go (right to tighten, left to loosen). With each squeeze the built-in light illuminates to help you guide the screw. And the harder you turn your hand, the faster the GYRO goes (at 180 rpm per minute) and applies 35 in/lb in torque.
With each GYRO purchase you get:
We really love the long lasting power of the lithium batteries offered by Black & Decker. These things can hold a charge for up to 18 months. That’s a long time! My hubby’s old drills and screwdrivers were always dying off in a short period of time, requiring charge after charge. During home projects we frequently had to switch over to corded drills and drivers. What a pain!
But not with the lithium MAX batteries like the one that’s included with the GYRO or the Matrix 12v drill/driver (another one of hubby’s new favorite toys). Nope, once these babies are charged they get us through a completed project (which can last hours or even days) and still go strong.
See this puppy in action…
As you may have seen in a recent Facebook status update, hubby and I replaced our whole front entry door unit (sidelights and all) over the weekend. Boy was that a long, drawn out project, but it’s nearly finished with the exception of some painting and a few narrow pieces of trim. We would have finished had it not been raining the last 2 days.
What took so long was the fact that our home builder did such a shotty job on the original. They replaced it twice in the first few years, and now, after 12 years of living here, we’ve replaced it with the fourth (outside the expired warranty). One major problem they created is the fact that the entire wall surrounding the door openings measurements are off. And so, getting a door squared takes a little maneuvering and lots of adjustments.
Boy are we glad we had our Black & Decker tools to get us through what could have been an even more stressful job! The GYRO and Matrix both lived up to surpassed their expectations. They kicked some major butt!
BUY IT!
The 4v MAX Gyro Rechargeable Screwdriver can be purchased directly at www.blackanddecker.com. As well as at most home improvement retailers nationwide. MSRP is $40 and SO worth every penny!
If you’re looking for an affordable, yet awesome gift to give the DIY’er in your life, I highly recommend the GYRO. It’s one powerful, yet lightweight piece of equipment. Don’t let the size fool you!
