Lets face it, the holidays are not just about time spent with friends and family while surrounded by beautiful decorations and meaningful music.
A great deal of focus goes into the foods we eat during this celebratory time as well.
As families gather around the dinner table it’s only natural to want to put before our guests a beautiful banquet of amazing food — entrees, side dishes and desserts. A meal that’s just as memorable as the laughs, hugs and gifts.
Well, to make your holiday meals special this year Country Crock and Bella Savvy have teamed up to offer one lucky reader a whole holiday meal with all the fixin’s. PLUS, some bakeware to prepare those delectable desserts in.
We realize that with the economy the way it is, many families are struggling to make ends meet, they’re stretching their hard earned dollars as far as they’ll go only to find it’s still tough putting food on the table and so, we want to help make it a little easier.
Country Crock — the brand I’ve been purchasing for many years creates THE best, creamy goodness yet it has 70% less saturated fat and 30% fewer calories than butter. At this time of year, the more calories we can eliminate, the better, right? And with Country Crock, you don’t have to sacrifice taste either. It’s the perfect accompaniment to all veggies, and breads. Plus, it works great in baking recipes.
With Country Crock you can take that typical, ordinary sidekick vegetable and create a true star for your dinner table. Yum!

My favorite cookies are these wreaths that my mom makes out of frosted flakes and melted marshmallows dyed green with redhots on top for the berries. If left to my own devices, I’ll finish off a whole plate in one sitting. It’s making my mouth water just thinking about it right now. And sure makes me miss home and my mom.
Oh, make that corn flakes – NOT FROSTED! I thought I’d come back and share the recipe. It’s fun to make with kids – kind of a take on rice crispy squares.
Here ya go!
Christmas Wreaths
1/2 C butter
1 1/2 t green food color
4 cups CORNFLAKES (not frosted)
30 large marshmallows
1 1/2 t vanilla
red cinnamon candy
In a 2-quart saucepan, melt butter and marshmallows over moderately low heat, stirring constantly. When melted, remove from heat; stir in food color and vanilla; stir in cornflakes. Drop mixture onto waxpaper 1 TBSP at a time. Decorate with red cinnamon candies (red hots is what I think they are called). Let stand 30 minutes until cool. Can be frozen! These are great to bring to teachers and neighbors!
