Getting a good nights sleep in my home is (to say the least) nearly impossible.
Why? For two main reasons — when I was 17 I was involved in not one but three car accidents and received injuries to my back, neck, shoulders, and right hip. Of course I healed over time (on the outside) but on the inside, the more I age, the more I feel the after effects of those injuries which takes me back to the days when the accidents first occurred. Not a very pleasant experience as you can imagine.
The second reason, our mattress is over 12 years old and unsupportive. Laying on it’s like laying in quick sand — you sink. This can do a real number on your entire body, not to mention your sleeping habits. And so I count sheep sleep with more than one pillow to ‘stay afloat’.
Why not just buy a new mattress? Well, the cost involved. We spent over $1,000 just on our current mattress (a double pillow top) alone and it lasted less than 6 months. Within that time it started breaking down. So, we’re in no hurry to spend a lot on a replacement.

I could defionitely use the cooling element of this pillow, I’m usually hot at night and any relief I can get would be blessing. The fact that they their shapes after a period of time is really interesting me in these pillows, as my husband tends to destroy pillows within 4 months! LOL
I never knew you could set the pillows to a comfort zone for yourself that is pretty nice. I really want to invest into a sleep number pillow and the bed. I can relate to you as well, I have been in 5 accidents and have a spine that curves this would probably help me while sleeping.

I have a terrible time finding a good pillow for me. I was also in a car accident years ago and messed up my neck. Every pillow I use makes my neck stick almost immediately! I love the little air tube! Very creative thinking. I would love to give this pillow a try!

I totally know what you mean about old injuries coming back to bite you in the butt, sometimes literally. I have the same issue. Getting older is so not something I’m doing gracefully, but moaning all alongo the way.
Too bad that you had those accidents but I am so glad too that they were able to invent such a bed that can make you comfortable when sleeping. Guess you were destined for it.
With my back and neck issues, a sleep number bed would do a tremendous amount of help to get me a great nights sleep so I can be productive in the morning.

I think the cooling pillow sounds amazing. I love that you can control the softness of your pillow. I have back/neck troubles myself and have a heck of a time sleeping at night.

Expensive, but to get a good nights sleep and maybe even help CHANGE your sleep habits…it’s gotta be worth it. Makes sense to have a valve to inflate or deflate with air to get it just right! Me, I need a flatter pillow to keep in alignment…I too have huge issues from a tango with a semi as a teen.
I might not be able to BUY this, but would not be afraid to ask as a gift from my husband. I’m worth it and he might get more sleep if I do too!

I never knew that Sleep Number had a pillow like this. This is exactly what I have been looking for. There is nothing worse to me than having an uncomfortable pillow. I have been trying all kinds of combinations and just when I think I found the perfect combo the pillow starts to flatten.
