Well, I’ve totally shocked myself this year. I started my Christmas shopping a whole lot earlier than normal and surprisingly I’m more than halfway finished. To be honest I’m proud of myself.
Of course my shopping won’t be complete until I’ve grabbed a few gifts for the furbabies in my life as well.
This year “Skye” our little diva doggie is getting an assortment of little toys. The only thing is, nearly every one has a squeaker in it. Will I be sorry? Well, we’ll soon find out. haha!
Our two kitties on the other hand received one of their gifts early, thanks to Ace Cat Furniture — a Bungalow cat tree with paw print fur.
Climbing and having the desire to be up high is a natural cat instinct. In the wild cats climb real trees and sit high atop mountains so they can look down on their prey. Although our kitties are domestic, they still like to pretend they’re big lions. hehee!
Our cats can also be quite inquisitive and frisky at times, actually they can get into a lot of mischief when they get bored so it’s a good idea to provide them with plenty of stimulating things to keep them out of trouble. That’s why a cat tree makes such a great feline gift. It allows them to act natural — climbing, leaping, scratching, exploring, hiding, and sitting up above floor level so they can feel almost regal. Rawr…
Cat trees come in a multitude of sizes, shapes and colors. And many come with attached condo’s, swings and toys, providing kitty with lots of fun things to do. We have a fairly large cat tree sitting next to the natural gas fireplace hubby and I designed and built the year after our home was built. It’s became one of Bella and Mookie’s favorite places to hang out.
For Christmas this year I wanted to get another tree to locate in a different area of the room since they love looking out the front windows and being closer to us (at times) as well.
The Bungalow cat tree is the perfect size for smaller spaces — measuring in at just 43″ H x 16″ W x 16″ L. So, if you live in an apartment, condo or smaller home but want something to keep your kitty active, this would be a good one for you.
This 3-level tree comes with a lower level condo which is great for those long cat naps, a mid level for stretching out and a top level for keeping an eye on that ‘prey’ and preparing to pounce. By prey I mean anything that moves, including toes or in our cats’ eyes, even eye lashes. Pesky kitteh’s!
If your kitty is a natural born ‘boxer’, they’ll love the hanging fur ball. hehee!
Although Bella and Mookie were front declawed (due to my allergy to the bacteria – the kind that causes cat scratch fever) they still like to paw at the scratching posts. At times they really act as though they’re ripping apart an antelope. How ferocious!
Overall the quality of the Bungalow cat tree is great. The sisal rope is extremely durable so if your kitty still has it’s claws, these posts will hold up quite well.
The only downfall to this tree is unfortunately it’s size. Our kitties are 14-16 pounders and hefty in size, making this tree look a little dwarfed. It would be more fitting for a kitten, or smaller sized cat. However, Bella and Mookie did take an interest to it and enjoy resting in the condo which is actually a little larger in size than our old tree. Now they both have a spot to hide out and relax.
Assembly of the Bungalow cat tree is really simple. I did it all by myself in less than 10 minutes because all it requires is attaching the scratching posts to the platforms & condo with the included screws/nuts using the also included Allen wrench. It couldn’t get any easier than that!
Then sit back and watch as your curious cat makes their way over to check it out.

We have 1 cat. Her name is Cheyanne, but we usually call her Beaner, BeanDip or Speedbump. There’s a story behind why she’s called this, but long story short, she’s 20 lbs of pure kitty. We love her lots, except when she jumps on us in the middle of the night. It’s hard to get jumped on by that much weight when you are sleeping and don’t know the attack is coming. She’s on a diet, and she could really use this.
Thanks!
I have 2 cats named Asher and Biscotti.
