This year, this time of year is bittersweet for my family. See, not only is our daughter Gina going back to college (for her sophomore year) but our son Derek is a senior in high school.
I can’t help but get teary eyed as I think about how quickly my kids have grown and focus on what the future holds for all of them. I can still remember the days when my kids would hold my hand as we walked together (almost in sync) and talk about anything under the sun.
Now, they’re older, maturing at a fast pace and my hubby and I are faced with the reality that one day our ‘nest’ here will be empty and our children will be off leading adult lives of their own.
My babies aren’t babies anymore. They’re looking more like me. They’re taller, their voices are deeper (not squeaky or mouse-like) and they’re accomplishing goals. This is what we’ve raised them to do. So why am I feeling so down? Why am I not looking forward to tomorrow? I guess it’s because I’m facing a loss. A loss of what once was and it’s stings. But at the same time I am SO happy and proud of my kids. (I need a tissue!)
My baby boy’s feet used to fit in the palm of my hand.
They’re not so little anymore (in comparison to mine)!
As parents, we can only want what’s best for our children and my hubby and I have always provided their needs and wants — as much as possible. This time of year is no exception. Sure there’s always that mad rush to get the essentials for school (and it’s pretty hectic) but later on we look back and think… it wasn’t THAT bad… it was all well worth it.
GO BACK TO CLASS WITH SAM’S CLUB BUNDLES!
Being a one-income family, we’re always on the lookout for not only the best deals but convenience as well. And that’s why Sam’s Club has always been our go-to store for school supplies because we can buy them in bulk and still save (per piece). They always have a great selection and the prices are right (all under one roof too).
Come this fall Gina will be transferring to main campus and heading out on her own. She plans to get an apartment near school so there are tons of things she’ll need. I’m slowly collecting essentials to help cut down on her expenses. We thought high school was expensive but college is horribly costly. The text books and tuition fees are enough to bankrupt you. She needs all the help she can get so she’s not struggling day to day.
When I recently learned about the Back to Class bundles offered at Sam’s Club, boy was I intrigued to check them out. Sam’s Club knows all about how tough it is for college students and that’s why they’ve put together bundles of a variety of products (in different categories) that teens and young adults (or anyone) can use that will help save them money.
Here’s a few you can choose from:

As you can see there’s a good variety of bundles to choose from, not to mention a great variety of products your teens will use every day. We received the Snack Pack bundle and my kids liked it so much that they broke into every package before I even made it home to find that it had arrived. ahahaa!
From cleaning and laundry to tasty snacks, Sam’s Club provides all of the items on your list in a single, affordable package that could potentially last all semester long.
With the high cost of tuition, room and board, textbooks and more, college often becomes overshadowed by a rising bill. Sam’s Club wants to help families this year by offering college supplies at an affordable price. I really love and appreciate their dedication to consumers and their money saving values!
If you have students entering college this year, trust me, you’re going to want to teach your kids the importance of saving every penny they can. And now, thanks to Sam’s Club, you don’t have to run from store to store gathering all of the necessities for your child’s college life. They can pick them up from a local Sam’s Club store OR you can have them shipped directly to your students and save them the trip!
