Sure your kids are probably starting to prepare for their trip back to school but… wait… summer is NOT over yet!
There’s still time to get MORE out of your summer vacation!
When I reflect on the past few months I can’t help but think about all that we’ve done so far. As I’ve shared with you we’ve been slowly doing things around our home in hopes of getting it sold within the next year.
Outdoors our home was pressure washed, the trim was painted, and our flowerbeds were cleaned out and topped off with a fresh layer of black mulch. We also planted some pretty annuals. Indoors I’ve been doing some painting and our carpeting was professionally steam cleaned. Ahh…. it’s looking like new again. hehee!
After all of that work we certainly deserved a little mini vacation at one of the most beautiful, family-friendly and accommodating hotels EVER — Embassy Suites.
This amazing hotel provided us the luxurious amenities we don’t normally get, as well as the relaxing spacious qualities of home. Couldn’t get any better!
With Embassy Suites Hotel stays you get:
We enjoyed our stay SO much that we plan to visit Embassy Suites again in the near future. It is THAT nice!
If you haven’t made plans for a family vacation, there is still time for a quick end-of-summer getaway. Even a night or two can be very refreshing — a nice break from a hectic summer. And let me tell you, check out Embassy Suites hotels. You won’t be sorry!
BEFORE PLANNING YOUR VACATION, TAKE A LOOK AT THESE HELPFUL TIPS…
Dr. Susan Biali, a health and happiness expert and author of “Live a Life You Love: 7 Steps to a Healthier, Happier, More Passionate You” is helping families “more-imize” their vacations this summer. She states that people need at least 3 days to get the full effect of a vacation, but in all reality families are sadly taking shorter trips, so it’s important to get as much as you can out of each day.
Here’s a few more helpful tips Dr. Biali has to offer ~
Make your vacation pay for itself by signing up for special travel rewards programs. Several credit card companies offer miles that you can earn on purchases that in turn can reduce your out-of-pocket expense toward vacations. Of course I always look for coupons, sales and other promos where available too.
Travel the night before to your destination. This is a great one! It’s much more exciting to be “on location” when you awaken so you have the whole day to enjoy rather than arriving mid-day, leaving not much time to do anything enjoyable before bedtime.
Looking forward to an impending vacation improves your mood and makes it easier to get through work. Boy isn’t that true! Grab that calendar and count down the days till you pack up and head out for your exciting trip. Allow your children to put little stickers on each new day so they can actually see how you’re gaining on that magical moment. And don’t forget to make a “to-do” list so you’re well prepared. You don’t want to wind up leaving anything necessary behind!
And of course document everything going on during your trip. Take loads of photos so you can share them with family and friends later on. They always enjoy seeing the images because it helps them get a mental picture of how your trip went. It also helps you re-live the moments so they stay fresh in your mind for years to come — like a mental memory keepsake box that you can share again and again.

I always travel a day in advance, especially if we’re flying somewhere. I have a fear of lost luggage and feel like it’s always better to be safe than sorry!
Thanx for the travel tips, we don’t travel much so its always handy to know about certain things before we do~!! Groovy great article~!!

We are planners so when we go on a trip we look forward it for months.
