Have a “Big Honkin’ Summer” with Target’s Affordable Summer Essentials

Now that school is out and summer is in full swing many of you are out enjoying the weather, hitting the swimming pools, getting your tans on and gathering with family and friends for some tasty barbecues.

If you’re family is anything like mine, you love entertaining guests and playing host throughout the season. Problem is, that can become awfully expensive over time.

Target quickly became one of MY go-to places when I’m looking for the essentials I need to get the most out of summer get-togethers because they offer a wide variety of entertaining essentials — in all kinds of fun, bright colors — that won’t break the bank.

For the 4th of July this year we dined on pork spare ribs, steaks, corn-on-the-cob and other tasty foods — all served with some of Target’s new Summer Strawberry collection dishes and Bamboo serveware.

I really love the bright, bold colors and big juicy strawberry graphics. They truly speak “summer cookouts”, don’t you think?

The dinner plates are the perfect size to accommodate large portions of your favorite foods so you don’t have to make all of those return visits to the buffet tables. hehee!

And the salad plates give you extra space for fresh veggies, and dip, chips and salsa, cheeses, even desserts.

These guys are very sturdy too, yet lightweight and much more attractive than plan those boring old paper plates.

I like that the tumblers are clear with a splash of color from the strawberries. When filled with raspberry iced tea or lemonade they’re pretty enough to brighten any party table.

When using serveware I prefer large bowls with lids (to keep the bugs out) and when I saw the aqua blue bowl with the bamboo lid, and the bamboo serving utensils I was in love. Not only is it functional, but attractive as well. And bamboo is my absolute favorite wood. It’s truly gorgeous, very sturdy, AND eco-friendly.

And hey, each piece of Target’s summer collection is dishwasher safe — even the bamboo. Oh yeah, super PLUS!

These items will be getting a lot of use this season. We use our grill nearly every day during the warmer months (so the heat stays out and the cold stays indoors) and entertain on a regular basis. So, because this set livens up a gathering so well, and it’s affordable, it will be the collection that I grab when I’m setting up for our get-togethers from now on.

I highly recommend that you take a look at Target’s summer essentials for your summertime entertaining fun. And if you’re not a huge fan of strawberries, Target has plenty of other bright, sunny colors and patterns to suit any taste. I guarantee your guests will be just as pleased as you are.

Hey, don’t forget the little ones… add a beach ball, some sunglasses, beach towels, flip-flops, a sprinkler and refreshments and they’ll be entertained for hours.
