We all have our weaknesses and it just so happens that cookies are one of mine. So is coffee. If I don’t have my coffee in the morning I am a mess for the rest of the day (tired & grumpy). hehee!
Well, I guess I could say I’m like that too when I don’t get a moment for myself. Everyone deserves a little time alone to unwind, enjoy a sweet snack, read a book or just do nothing if they choose to.
My “me moment” recently included a few of my favorite things — coffee, and cookies. Biscotti to be exact. If you’re not familiar with biscotti (“bis” meaning twice in Italian and “cotto” meaning baked) and you love cookies and coffee, you’ve just got to try it.
Especially those made by Nonni’s, the number one selling biscotti maker in the country. I received a trio of their Biscotti Bites and oh my were they good!
These light, crunchy delicacies are perfect for dipping in hot coffee, espresso, and cappuccino. Of course you can always eat them all by themselves too. They’re delicately sweet, not overpowering. So if you don’t like super sweet cookies and other baked goods, you’ll love these!
Almond Dark Chocolate – this flavor combines the delicate flavors of biscotti with the rich taste of the finest chocolate available.

Caramel Milk Chocolate — this one is filled with sweet, creamy caramel and then dipped in milk chocolate.

Classic Almond — combines the sweet flavor of almonds with just a hint of anise.

My favorite flavor of the three, although they are all great, is the Almond Dark Chocolate. Not only do you get sweet and crunchy from the cookie itself, but then there’s the sweet, creaminess from the chocolate and an added crunch from the almonds. YUMMY!
Dipping these babies in my coffee definitely brings on a biscotti moment. The chocolate melts from the heat of the coffee and creates a tasty sensation in your mouth. They certainly CAN become addictive. hehee!
I really like the “bite size” of these crisp cookies because they’re perfect for carrying on-the-go when I need a little something to tide me over while I’m away from home. The problem is, I have to hide them somewhere other than my purse because sweets in my purse are not sacred. My kids steal them. hehee! I know, I know, I should share. But I know these wouldn’t last.
When looking for a topping for my homemade soft serve ice cream the other day, I saw the Nonni’s bag in the pantry. “Hmm”, I thought to myself. I proceeded to grab two biscotti, crumpled them in my hand and sprinkled them on top of the ice cream in my bowl. Then I took a bite. And another bite, and another bite until it was all gobbled up. Wow, that was SO GOOD!
Next, I want to try crumbling some and creating a crust for a pie. Doesn’t that sound delicious?
