All Star Vacation Homes

Need a fun and easy craft for your children? This is it!

It’s not only festive but super easy to do and doesn’t require special materials. Many of you probably have everything you need in your home already.

Enjoy!

MATERIALS LIST:

  • Construction paper in your choice of colors (red, pink & white for Valentines Day)
  • Yarn, pipe cleaners or other trim
  • Buttons
  • Glue (Elmers, glue sticks or glue dots)
  • Scissors
  • Black marker
  • White chalk (if using black construction paper)

INSTRUCTIONS:

Draw different sized hearts using a variety of colored sheets of construction paper. These will become body parts; bodies, feet, heads, eyes, and mouths. If you want a perfect heart shape, try tracing the outer edge of different sized heart-shaped cookie cutters.

You can also draw different shapes for different animal body parts such as tails, and noses.

Carefully cut along to lines and sort the pieces per size, color, and shape.

Allow your children to choose which pieces they want to make a variety of animals. Then glue the pieces together.

Use the marker to add features to their animals such as eyes, whiskers, nose holes, nails, etc.

Finished animals can be used to make Valentines Day garland, adorn homemade Valentine cards, or to hang on the refrigerator as holiday decorations.

I wish my 4 and 6 year old grandkids were closer to do these things with…my youngest being 12, she doenst get much into this anymore (cept the lacy cut valentine hearts for the windows).

The kids have also used these sheets of foam-like “paper” to do projects for school. this might be fun to use also! SO crafty you are girl! thanks!
