Goodbye Sweet Baby, Layla Grace!

On November 16, 2009 Layla began a 6 week hospital stay to undergo a High Dose Chemotherapy with Autologus Stem Cell Rescue, more commonly known as a Bone Marrow Transplant. This was the 2nd phase in Layla’s treatment plan as she fought Neuroblastoma – an aggressive form of childhood cancer. Layla’s story touched so many lives and the response was overwhelming. Her family received several emails from people wanting to help, but were not sure how.
Her parents kept all concerned about Layla’s condition updated as frequently as possible via their Twitter account @LaylaGrace and their blog Layla Grace. Updates were also posted on Facebook.
Her story was truly a heart-felt one that touched many throughout the whole country and beyond. I can’t imagine the pain her family is feeling now that she went to be with the Lord early this morning. The birth of a baby is such a blessed one but to lose a child especially such a young one is indescribable. My heart aches for her whole family, especially her Mother, Shanna.
Rest peacefully Layla! I pray that your Mommy and other family members find comfort in knowing that you are with our Father in Heaven now. No more pain and suffering. God Bless the Marsh family!
