All Star Vacation Homes

Ah, you know that Valentines Day is the day that many of us are ‘bitten’ by that silly little Love Bug. So, why not share ‘sweet nothings’ with the love of your life by creating a little Love Bug valentine?

This craft is especially cute for kids and classroom parties!

All it takes is a few pieces of construction paper, pipe cleaners, stickers, an empty toilet paper roll and some glue. Quick and easy!

Materials:

  • Toilet paper roll (empty tube)
  • Pink or red construction paper
  • 2 short pipe cleaners or one long one in pink, purple, or red
  • Colored pens, pencils, markers, and or crayons
  • Glue
  • Scissors

Instructions:

Paint or color the outer covering of the toilet paper tube with the color of your choice. Stand tube up on one end to let dry (if using paint).

Cut two hearts from construction paper for the wings. Fold the hearts in half to create vertical creases if desired (this will allow you to slightly bend the wings, if desired).

Attach the ‘wings’ to the back sides of the toilet paper tube.

Draw a cute face on the top end of the tube with a marker.

Wrap half of one end of the pipe cleaners around a pen or pencil and then remove the pipe cleaner, leaving the curl in the one end. Tape the pipe cleaners to the insides of the top end of the tube for the antennae.

Write your Valentine message on one wing of your Love Bug. Add holiday stickers to dress it up, if desired.

You’re all done!

Aww,that really adorable! You did a nice job. My mom does crafty things, but I don’t have the patience for it.

Oh I love this! Very cute. I think it would make a cute table centerpiece – even cuter on multiple tables for a Valentine brunch.

That’s really cute! I’m going to have to pass this on to my sister so my nieces can try this out. They’re so crafty. :)

  • Becky says:

Will you add one of those fb share buttons so I could send this craft to a friend, please? She is always looking for things to do for her younger kids. Thanks. :)

  • Eileen says:

WOW…yes, I know it’s more work but I bet the FB share buttons would let us share with potential readers. I know people who would come over to sign up for samples and especially the crafts we can show pics of.

I know my grand daughter would do this one with mommy!

  • I hope everyone saved up their toilet paper tubes all year long for this project lol
