Bella’s Blog Bash: Little Tikes Neighborhood Market {review} + Giveaway ($100 value)

Ever since our older kids were little we’ve had plenty of Little Tikes® toys in our home. The toys have always been sturdy, and realistic. Plus, they last a long, long time as well.

What I have always loved is the faux food, kitchens, and dishes. Those are things I always wanted when I was a little girl but never got. So, when I first had little girls I bought the toys for them and even after so many years of waiting I can finally play with these toys. Don’t laugh, you know you’ve done it too! hehee.

Little Tikes® is always coming out with more and more adorable things. A child can pretty much have their own little town with all that they have to offer. We recently received one of the newest Little Tikes® additions — the Neighborhood Market. Have you seen them?

The Little Tikes® Neighborhood Market is a versatile three-in-one super stand made of rugged plastic for long-lasting fun.

I love the idea of this playset because your child can operate a bakery, ice cream shop or even a farmers market easily with a quick change of merchandise. The market is just like a real shop with a working cash register for money and credit cards, a retractable awning, plastic chalkboard marquee sign and display case with shelving.

What Accessories Did We Receive?

The 38-piece set we received included 3 ice cream cones, 2 scoops of ice cream (we received one scoop of strawberry & one scoop of chocolate) and an ice cream scooper. As well as 3 lemons, 3 oranges, 2 bunches of bananas, and 4 cupcakes.

As with anything that requires assembly, we always lay out all of the parts and compare the material list with everything in the box to ensure that we’re not missing anything before we get started in putting the items together. It saves us a headache just in case something needs to be returned. Yep, it’s all there…

Although there were no worded directions, there were plenty of pictures with diagrams to show us how to assemble the market. Hubby assisted me since he’s a little bit better at building things than I am. We’ve worked together in building quite a few things; toys, fireplaces, decks, patio’s, fences, landscaping, even finishing basements. We are definitely DIY people. hehee

Woohoo, it’s coming along. It has sides!

I’m easily amused, huh? hahaa. You know I do have to mention the fact that when I told my hubby that I was going to put the Neighborhood Market together he jumped up and asked if I wanted help. Normally I have to be the one to ask him. He was eager this time because he loves toys AND he especially loves Little Tikes®.

Yay, it’s done! Look how cute.

In my estimate, I would say it took approximately 20 minutes to assemble the whole market. Everything went together quite easily and it looks great. We did notice that the bottom right corner has a hole in it, it appears to be what must have been an air bubble in the plastic as it was poured in the mold because the plastic around the hole is a lot thinner than the rest of it.

I really like the clear sliding doors. It makes it seem more real, just like shopping at our local grocery store. Hmm… the only thing missing is the donuts and drinks. hehee. You know, honestly this could easily be transformed into a pizza shop as well. Add some pizza’s, breadsticks, plates, napkins and drinks and there ya go. The red and white awning reminds me of an Old World pizza place.

We’re having a lot of fun with the Neighborhood Market. It’s versatility makes it fun for boys and girls and there’s just so much you can do with it. Since it’s recommended for ages 3 and up I know there’s plenty of years of play ahead. Who know’s what it could be next — lemonade stand, maybe? We shall see. Ice cream anyone?
